Have we announced Spencer leniu? Or Dom Young?

no, i believe there are rules surrounding announcing a player signing while they are actively still playing for another club

They have both been confirmed by our coach and the players themselves, but the Roosters for some reason like officially announcing players randomly

fair play. Announcements around signing and re-signing players are still treated differently

His form at the backend of the season has pushed his value up with other clubs now showing interest.

It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.

His manager also needs to understand that very few clubs would have persevered with his player as long as what the Roosters have, and reward that loyalty to some extent

So Billys on $160k and a lug like Koala wants $900k? Somethings askew here.

One's made of plasticine and the other has played Origin. I can understand why he would be asking a whole lot more than Billy

Billy wasn't setting the world on fire when the 1 year extension deal was offered. There were no other clubs interested! Things have changed. I recon he's worth around $300k

Ridiculous comment, every player risks serious injury every time they play or train, KK will certainly have his turn.
I really admire Billy Smith and I think he could be a top line centre.
He turns 24 in November so has 10 years to look forward to.
He's been in our top squad for 4 years and only played 27 games
15 of those were this year.
I guess if he's been on an average of $120K per year for the last 4 he owes the club a full year at the $160K mentioned,
but if he plays the whole season next year and progresses as he has been he will be worth at least $500K to any club.
I'd love to see him get to 250 games and be a lifetime Rooster,
just something about him and his determination to get past the setbacks he has hadthat make me admire him.

This where a loan move would be really good. You could loan out Billy Smith next year whilst JS plays out his final year, the loanee club pays 50% of his salary for next year and then we get him back in 2025 when JS has left.

Alternatively, just let JS leave now and the problem is solved.

Roosters great club, great set up showed plenty of faith in him. Could win a premiership @ $160k a year and only a 1 year deal vs Bulldogs or Dragons shit club, shit everything but more money and a longer deal

Ideally his manager would like to get the Roosters to match the highest bidder. If he stays and wins a comp with us his value will double anyway.

Still, it's a tough decision to make as NRL players have a shelf life.

That is what needs to happen. Suaalii staying one more year is going to punish us beyond 2024.

Although given how well our young team went in the last few weeks, I can understand Robbo entertaining the possibility of premiership in 2024 with Suaalii in the team.
