Trials haven't been counted in the past. Latrell got 6 weeks after his hit on Manu and the NRL allowed the All Stars game to count but not any of the trials.

Correct from the NRL website;

"Players who are serving a suspension in round one of the NRL Telstra Premiership can be named and play for their clubs in pre-season trials pending their charge was either a grade one or two incident.

The trial match will not count towards their suspension."

and none of them are prone to jwh brain expulsions ...nas excepted , as a kiwi I'm not sure even if available jwh is selected ahead of jfh, leota and tapine , he and nas a toss of the coin on current form . nas currently may offer more off the bench ?

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. SJ stood out to me as the big absentee given his amazing season.

It's a gift and a curse representing your country/playing rep footy. Some of our boys (Teddy included) are well overdue a good rest during the off-season. Can never begrudge them from playing for Aus/NZ/Polynesian team when given the opportunity though given the prestige. Catch 22. Will be cheering all the Chooks on regardless, hope they stay injury free and carve up.

I’m happy for Mr Whyte being selected. It will be great for his experience especially when he was out due to injury late season.

Possibly most, if not all, of the squad will make the trip to Las Vegas unless the NRL limits player numbers to those that are available for selection . i.e not injured and or suspended.

I can't see only 22 players going a week or so before the game, as injuries are part and parcel of training nowadays, as we have all seen, so you need all the players that are available for selection making the trip.

So assuming Whyte is on the minimum base salary of $120k a year he would now be worth $170k a year on the open market. That's cheap for a player with so much potential!

Yes the international scene for rugby league is one area it can continue to improve! However atm unless a World Cup hard to get all players available
still good sides considering who is missing but certainly some very good players missing from many sides due to injury, suspension and sitting out
great to 6 over the last few years players choosing Tonga and Samoa over Aus and England
roosters players not playing include Suaali, smith, and sitili both injured and critchon not selected and jwh suspended
but still plenty in with teddy, tupou, Manu, Collins, and maybe radley with wong, Whyte and may
