Seeing as though the tigers are interested in recruiting a backrower, I was wondering whether they would be interested in doing a trade with T.Symonds. We honestly do not need him (we have 60 backrowers on contract)and his NSW cup form is not lighting the world on fire from all reports.

I know people with throw all of this sentimental crap like, he's a local junior, but honestly it would be a good trade if we can trade him for ayshford, who is also a local junior.

Symonds wouldn't have come cheap when we resigned him and he's about the same chance as getting a start as I am.

Just for kicks, I'd rate ayshford as twice the centre leilua is. Good hands, good speed and a great finisher.Also has better defence reads than skd IMO.

Back on topic - Symonds is contracted until 2014 and on pretty good money too apparently, it seems like a waste to have him running around for Newtown and unless we get a ton of injuries I can't see him playing first grade this year.

Mason was definitely payed out from his last year of his contract. O'meley on the other hand went to the uk for house hunting halfway through his second season, and I think we would have payed him in full for the second year he was here for sure.

If i was symonds and I was rotting away in NSW cup, then I would go look for an opportunity elsewhere even if it cost me. Why would a bloke in his early 20s want to be a scape goat in NSW cup??

The sad thing is that I had so much hope in him becoming our next fitzy, as he was our only light in a very dark 2009.I guess boyd cordner will have to fill that void.

You're kidding yourself if you think Ashford is even in the same ballpark as SKD as a centre.

As for Leilua, its not a question of whether or not he's better than him. Its whether or not he's better than Moga, who Leilua is currently keeping the spot warm for. I don't have many tickets on Moga based on his actual performances that I've seen (seems like a Hurrell type character), but a lot of people rate him and I wouldn't want to throw away a 19 y.o prospect to bring in a middle of the road centre 5 years older than him
