  • I like the sound of this ^^^. If the kid is as good as people say he is he can't be held back forever.

      • It may just be from memory but every time a debutant is hyped up so much, it is rarely seen that he kills it.

Its usually those guys who come in under the radar who form a name for themselves, like Jack Reed last year, Inglis wasn't too hyped about in the media prior to debut, Neither was folau.

I just hope he copes under the pressure.

Don't kid yourself.....there was plenty of hype around regarding Inglis, he was absolutely carving up in the Qld Cup prior to debuting for Melbourne

          • The chances of Moga having a debut like SBW is slim. I remember listening to his first game against Parra on the radio, he was carving up. Not many can do this. So much expectation has been placed on this kids shoulders.

We need to give him time. Hopefully he carves up, but I'd be happy with him getting through the full 80 minutes.

No player will ever have a debut like SBW did it was like watching a 16 year old playing 12 year olds, it was incredible.

              • People need to remember that he may look all grown up but he's just a kid. I really hope people lay off him if he only manages to touch the ball six times in the game!

                    I agree.

I think that the added pressure comes with the fact that in a way this kid's debut is one of the very few bright things our team has to look forward to this season.

Take all the love and bias you have for the chooks to one side, and we haven't had the greatest of seasons so far and we are not playing like a teams worthy of finals. Our structure has been poor in some areas and our wins haven't been against sides who were playing at their best, ala melbourne.

Whether we want to blame Anasta or Mini or Smith , I think that all of this means that Moga has more pressure to perform as the fans are eagerly awaiting his debut. Had we been a top 4 side then a lot less pressure would have been on him as the fans would not take a faliure by moga as heavily. I just hope he doesn't turn into a Owen Craigie.

                    Best of luck Tau Tau.

                      • Go you massive unit.

You're shouldering the weight of thousands of disillusioned rooster rans.

                        Be the ball.

I would've thought all of the long service money has been used by Mini's new contract, I think it's 200k but it's not per player, at least that's the way I understand it.

If Mini only plays more year but Perrett signs for 2 then he will be the only player eligible in 2014 for the exemption so that is where the benefit will exist.

Just watching the replay Penile got up gingerly after that kick thru by Mini that Penile almost regathered. It looked like he hurt the left knee, maybe a slight hyperextension, and he already had strapping on the right one. 60min mark.

                              The FlogPen .

                              You know it makes sense.
