Oi! Some of my best memories involve night training at ES Mark's in the 80's-90's with the smell of the old brewery (or something very yeastie like that) going on in the background while a mad plover attacked all the people running by.

Dunno which grade it was but that was my intro to Easts as they'd train there. They let me do all their fitness testing...etc with them too (coach always loved seeing us random 14-15 year old athletes belt them in sprints / beep tests coz he could be like 'fark running down 1st graders, you so and so's couldn't even run down a 14 year old!!! Time to pull your finger out!!!')

Side note - my local oval these days (used by some ULTRA serious Indian / Pakistani / Sri Lankan teams in their local comp + some 1st grade clubs) just leaves the lights on for locals every night. I'd have to read up on it but I thing gone are the days of needing ridiculously large, power-hungry halogens (or similar) to light up a field (I think that affordable LEDs can just do it and they're high enough up that random thugs don't break them).

It's pretty frigging good as I can just walk my son up there any night and there will be people playing social footy or basketball (on the adjacent, lit-up courts) at any time really. Reminds me of the Gong in the 80's when you'd just walk up to Glastonbury Gardens (in Austi - where I see Fitzy a lot these days) and join a game of touch any night of the week.

Melbourne parted ways with Castore (the same apparel brand as us) so I hope the Roosters aren't too far behind. Melbourne has inked a deal with "O’Neills".

Personally, the Castore brand of gear has been shithouse over the past 2+ years.

Maybe this is similar sponsorship related news for us ?

Mate Castore is as trash as you can get with a kit supplier.

This year ISC manufactured every storm jersey last year Lol!!!

Have a look at the PL over in England.. Aston Villa aren’t happy with the “ wet look “ their jersey gives once a player starts to run… the players have complained saying the jersey “ wears them down “.

I hope we fark them off too.

Nice inside info GrubBER - looks like Steggles are going at the end of 2024.

I wonder who the new sponsors will be??

Good to see the training fields being re-turfed. I’ve often thought the hard surface at Moore Park training fields contributed to ongoing issues with knee injuries.

Also one thing that you can rely on is that the Roosters will bring in a top brand as major sponsor - hopefully we can maintain a good sponsor integration on our kit.

Games are played at night, so training at night makes sense, as does mixing things up.
