So if we assume that Joey was telling the truth (which I do), what was the imperative for him to sign a new contract before now? Your peace of mind? Just because no contract has been announced doesn't mean he has gone back on his word and is testing the market. If he & the club are comfortable that they will sort out his contract over the next few months, what does it matter?

If he shook hands with Nick then thats the end of it but if he shook hands and now is shopping himself around he will get the boot regardless of his stature

Seriously the guy is too fat and lazy to ever be a good fullback
        I agree

        Teddy
        Walsh
        Ponga
        Edwards
        Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad
        Drinkwater
        Turbo
        Papanhausen when fit
are all better fullbacks then Latrell.

Latrell is a big strong game breaking centre.

Who said he went back on his word? When in august his manager says they won’t test the November marker and will get a deal done in the coming months it reads like a deal will be signed before mid November when teams are officially allowed to table desperate offers for him. Why publicly say it if they’re not getting it done before November?

I thought that’s what you were implying.

Who knows, he may have already finalised a deal. You know how crap the club is at announcing these things. Have they even announced Lenin’s signing yet?

I am not sure if they have officially announced Spencer in a press release but they did release a 2024 squad list on instagram last week which listed Dominic Young and Spencer Leniu as new arrivals with Junior Pauga, Tyler Moriarty and Zach Docker-Clay as elevated to the top squad.

I believe that if Joseph says to his manager he is staying so don't bother with offers then he will stick with it but as a fan it would be nice to have it sealed before a team like the Dragons keeps upping the ante with deals that are too good to turn down.
