BULLDOGS LEAD RACE FOR ROOSTERS ENFORCER AMID CIRALDO LINKS

The Bulldogs are reportedly leading the race to sign Roosters forward Terrell May, who is close to Cameron Ciraldo form his time at the Panthers.

WWOS reported the Roosters are in danger of losing May, with the Panthers junior in the sights of Ciraldo and the Bulldogs.

May was mentored by Ciraldo, who is a friend of the family early in his career before signing with the Roosters.

The 24-year-old prop has scored one try in 26 games for the Roosters since his debut in 2022, including 17 games last season.

May comes off-contract at the end of 2024, which means clubs have been free to negotiate with him for 2025 and beyond from November 1.

The Roosters are keen to keep May, but will struggled to match the money on offer from NRL rivals, after signing Panthers premiership winner Spencer Leniu on a big money deal.

What is classed as a big money?? I didn’t think $500k would be classed has a “big money” deal these days.

Not going to lie, I'd be absolutely gutted if we lost T-May. I've had a lot of man love for him from day 1 and always thought he had so much potential and thought he could be a cornerstone of our pack for years to come. His back half of the season was immense.

So come on Robbo/Sir Nick, get him signed up and away from the dirty dogs as a matter of priority. I'd be super salty if we lost him and kept some of our other plodders who wouldn't pull the skin off a custard.

            - Burton
            - Steve Crichton
            - Xerri

TBH I dunno where all the hype's coming from. What are they 1-13?

            1. Taaffe
            2. JAC
            3. Xerri (outta the game for 3-4years with all that time spent on his 'bro bro bro' gym shyte & developing his Burwood accent... OMGGGGG... farkin hec-tiiiik... I sweartagaaaawd I'm gonna smeeesh this [bleeeep])
            4. Crichton
            5. Kiraz
            6. Hutcho
            7. Burton
            8. Curran
            9. Mahoney
            10. Knight
            11. Kikau
            12. Salmon
            13. Mariner

Pardon my skepticism but IMO that's a pretty shyte squad (though I appreciate that Kikau, Salmon, Crichton and Burton are all ex-Penrith... they've won without most of them and the Doggies haven't been winning with them). Get the suspicions though.
Isn’t Mariner on the outer there as well?

But apparently Connor Watson was an astute re-signing!

Eggs on faces when we lose May over Watson!

We won't lose anyone on the back of Watson's extension surely !

                    He couldn't be on enough.

Would be a major blow to lose both May and JWH at the end of next season.

I reckon we will re sign may
we have suaali leaving next season or this year $750k
                          angus critchon next year $700k
                          jwh retiring -$750k
and potentially Keary and or tupou retiring $800 and $400k so some money to spend
we have also retained Nat butch, Wong and Whyte and I think terrel may will be next in line
With jwh retiring at season end a starting spot is coming
what a front to rotation for 2024 with jwh, Collins, Leniu and May with Whyte as back up
hopefully we can get may sorted soon before his value keeps climbing with other clubs interested

Thought he looked off the pace at times coming into FG but he was exceptional back half of the year and if can play consistently anywhere near that level will be a huge asset going forward. The longer it goes on the more you can’t help but get a tad nervous

May made a statement at the back end of last season and is comfortably worth minimum $500k a year.

Yes shows the diff between 1st and res grade
May was doing 200-250mtr a game in res but too a while in 1st grade, also limited minutes to start but warmed up well
Wong and Whyte were the same dominating res grade in 2023 and Wong has made a name for himself in nrl and I expect Whyte two as well over the next few seasons! I expect May to re sign and Whyte will take jwh spot in the 17 in 2025
