Love the one that Marty Gurr knocks back the bomb in goal then David Michael cleans up and streaks away and then on to Boustead then Hastings finishes off a pearler of a try.
Also Johnny Peard changing direction and finding Beetson who gets the ball onto Ron Coote and then Mark Harris finishing off, brilliant.
Bill Mullins try against Norths not to shabby either.
Mini's try as the half time siren is sounding against the Dragons is just pure speed and determination.Last edited by horrie hastings; 11-25-2023, 03:49 PM.

(2) 1980 Easts v Wests Final - YouTube
The week after was not a good memory, but this match is. My fave is the Gary Warnecke try celebration ...not quite the standard of a Choc Mundine or Nathan Blacklock, but just as enjoyable !Last edited by Hawkeye; 11-26-2023, 08:54 PM.

I still remember when Bozo came over to the Chooks, I really liked him.

Yes, I’m an old bugger.

Can remember Bozo scoring under the posts in front of the Bradman stand, then got up with the finger pointing skyward. Funny thing I can't really remember who played in the preceding game ...records say newtown v cronulla, but can't remember it !

Yes i was at the game for Mini's try to, what a rush of adrenaline it was after picking up the Hornby grubber after the half time siren and then the foot race with Gasnier to the try line.
It was a great day to at the Sports Ground watching Hastings finish off the 100 metre try, Easts thrashed Cronulla that day 35-0.
