It's 50th anniversary this year of the great 1974 premiership. I have so many great memories of that year. Having lived the disappointment of the 1972 GF defeat, Roosters fans just knew that this would break our long premiership drought. So much so that, in Round 6, over 50,000 fans attended the SCG to watch us beat the reigning premiers, Manly, 15-5.

I hope we honour this great team in 2024, win another premiership and then do the same in 2025 in honour of the next year's even greater team.

Just get it where only your wife can see it.

          Wonderful memories.
Would love to see Ron Coote inducted as an Immortal while he is still with us.

I won’t be able to hide as I parade around naked ( the benefit of no more kids living at home) and when she scrubs me and showers me .

We're the same age Mickie, I was 7 that year too, but living in country NSW with a dad who was petrified of driving in the city I was little chance of getting to a GF

I was 12 years old in ‘74, and listening to score updates of the GF while I was Ice Skating with my older brother and some mates is one of my earliest Roosters memories. When they gave the score updates & the Chooks were in front I cheered loudly, only to be immediately surrounded by a bunch of angry morons … I was at the old Canterbury rink.

Lets hope the club gets on board and promotes this. They wont because we ditched our home game against the dogs to gosford.

This game gets lost in the deserved hype about 1975 But I still remember how happy it made me after going to Easts games since 1962. Sat in the Noble stand with my wife and the crowd (57000) really went off . I had two mates playing and another I played against in juniors. 1975 was great ( Grant Hedger was another mate) but the first win is best . Didnt feel that good again until my son and I watched 2002 GF followed by 2018 and 2019. Now I go with kids and grandkids waiting for next premiership.
