He did say he doesn’t want to leave Sydney and wants to assist his parents into retirement etc. very family oriented beyond just his brothers.

Can't see us ever signing a first choice winger like Taylan whilst Robbo is in charge.

Brett Morris the obvious exception to the rule but I can't think of another first choice winger we have signed short than 190cm.

Here's what May had to say. I reckon we've got no chance of retaining him:

“I want to be honest here. My talks are with whoever wants to sign us three brothers. That’s where I want to be at,” May said on the Bloke in a Bar podcast with Denan Kemp.

“Robbo (Roosters’ head coach Trent Robinson) knows too. I haven’t hid it from him. Whichever club wants three brothers, that’s where I’ll be at. We are all off (contract) at the same time.

“That’s the preference if a club can get all three of us, I’ll sign there in a heartbeat no matter what. I think everyone would.

“If you have two brothers you could be at the same club with, I think you’d want to be there no matter the situation.”

“Clubs have shown interest, but it’s just what club we want to be at. Obviously I want to stay at Roosters, but it’s hard when you have brothers.”

If that's how he feels then too bad. He would be better off focusing on his own career rather than follow his brothers.

That gave me a good chuckle.

Also notes how JWH inspires him to play well because he doesn’t go talking smack to other players about putting in a poor performance, he’ll come directly to you and let you know.

We will miss the big fella, Jazz.

He’s bought a house in Mt Druitt where he grew up, it’s a long way from the Eastern Suburbs.
His dad really gave the boys tough love.
He says Robbo knows that he is talking with other clubs so it’s really up to the Roosters to offer him a good deal if they want to keep him. He’s a tough man & you need tough men if you want to win comps.
What about when he talks about Lindsey Collins & about how he showers with purified water.
And I liked how he talked about Jarred & Rads how they will play aggressive football no matter what the rules.

He is Nathan Cleary's best friend, who dates (or used to) his sister
Ivan Cleary is on record saying he is a still a huge fan

I get the feeling they just sent him away for the dust to settle and everyone to forget about his indiscretions
The timing is right with the Panthers needing a 5/8 after this season....

                  Wont be us

                  Perhaps this?

                  Toops - retires
                  Suaalii - Rugby

                  Taylan May - comes in

You haven't factored in Mark Alphabet from Rugby already joining us in 2025. Dom Young's brother. As well as talk about the Roosters eyeing Jorgensen from Rugby as well. I think Taylan May would be superfluos.
I just hope Terrell's contract situation doesnt drag on for the season aka Latrell's contract situation did back in his last year !

No matter how good May is (& I really like him) if his motivation is to play with his brothers at any club then Robbo & the Chooks probably should let him go & that seems to be the case because if they really wanted him they would have signed him up. If playing with your brothers at any club is his priority rather then out & out wanting to play for the Roosters then its probably best to let him go.

I'm with ya Mick. Its a fraught business signing players in this salary cap environment on the basis of Brother Lee Luv. It is not a good premise for recruitment....we aren't like the Bulldogs in rhe Mortimer and Hughes eras.

And to consider such an idea to keep one player happy, that player would need to be a Keary or Tedesco in their prime. And sorry Terrell ain't quite that good...I hope he stays with us, liked him with the Bears early on. But it needs to be for the right reasons.

He's not a good 5/8 though is he? I remember watching Tyrone fill in a few times for them over the Origin period and he ran like he was in quicksand.

I do agree that I think they will all end up back at Penriff.

Bulldogs have apparently ramped up negotiations & offered him a multi year deal. Let the bloke go,more interested in playing for garbage clubs with spud brothers than winning & being a better player. I seriously don’t understand garbage like that as I’d rather be anywhere than at the same club as my brothers,it’s just strange to me. Forge your own career & you also don’t have the internal issues of one getting dropped, getting the shits & causing trouble for you etc. Same reason as I’d never work any normal job with family.
