so then we all agree that the young blokes who have some errors in their game and we expect is alright in my books but the so called veterans are costing us the most like Anastasshole , Perret and to a very lesser extent Mini.
I keep saying our trial form wasnt a nothing it had to do a lot of the hunger of the young blokes coming through.
We have talent and we have time drop a few more Anasta and Perret

I just watched the replay and the incident, Pearces shit flick pass, and it happened with 20 mins to go.

Sure they scored from the next set, but that was after a dubious penalty and a bomb.

Then they repeated that with another dubious penalty and another try from a bomb.

Pearce shouldn't have tried to pass on the zero like he did. But he did it 5 out from their line and when we were on the attack and looked like scoring. Then a lot happened and there were many opportunities to stop both tries, we just failed to shut them down at that point.

IMO there were many turning points in the game, the lead changed several times and the reffs decisions changed momentum on several occasions for both teams. Good game of footy, we were probably unlucky, but to say the game turned on that one incident, IMO, isnt correct.

Agree, backwards BUT I would rather he try something different than to turn into another Captain Bloody Obvious & be as boring & predictable as batshit.

I won't blame him for this and the game could have gone either way and most likely Pearce's critics wouldn't have surfaced had we won.

I'm not a Pearce critic but believe that was the turning point, we were well on top and the Warriors were gassed and begging us to end the misery, he had a brain explosion which cost us the match.

Pearce will still be my first picked when he returns from Origin I for our next club match.

Absolutely my friend. Pearce did what he did and it's what many have been calling on him to do, play more off the cuff and inspire some attack. Had it come off no one would've complained and I doubt they'd have called it a turning point either.

IMO he's getting better all the time and can only get better when he has a 5/8 who can assist him especially in attack. Probably this year will do more for Pearce than we realize, having to be the man and lead the team finally. He's always been the 2nd playmaker behind Bwaiff or Carntey. Now he is taking ownership, and growing into the role IMO.

And IMO in general MOST games aren't won on one play alone, especially in the 60th min and 5mtrs out from the oppositions line. Like blaming one reffs call alone for losing a game. The blame game is common on the net, people feel the need to validate their opinions and let emotion cloud their judgements. I try and look at an overall picture when assessing a game. And that one on the weekend had several lead changes and reffs calls and good play and big hits and was very high quality in general. I was proud of the way the team went as a whole.

These kids are learning and it's frustrating to us fans at times but they are getting their shit together and IMO are laying a platform for some very entertaining times ahead, whether that be this year or in the next few. I bet a few other sides are looking at them at the moment and thinking theyd hate for them to get on a roll, they could hurt a few sides if they do. Smiff and the coaches are doing a good job from what I can see.

Sh#t, backwards, mate you're starting to make sense....stop it. lol
              Concur 100%.
I said it late last year & early this year...it will be a bumpy ride with ups & downs but the main thing is to enjoy it, and I am. Loving this team & what I am seeing.
Just think, this might be history in the making & a team that will outshine all others in the past.
              Stranger things have happened.

              Keep the faith.

80 minutes of tough footie cannot be defined by 1 rushed pass.

I like to keep you all on your toes mate.

And I'm keeping the faith. This youth policy thingy, it's been a while for our club, but finally a policy that is proven to work unlike the hit and miss of buy buy buy. The footy so far has been entertaining, last year at times I couldn't be bothered watching, you could feel the vibe was bad. But this year you never quite know what to expect, like a young fella at a bluelight, how excitement.

                  Go Easts.

The U20s game was almost a mirror image.
