On the back of the Joey news. It’s starting to all make sense now. Fantastic news but I’m still devastated about the possibility of losing Joey which now looks more like a certainty than a possibility.

More great news! Billy played 15 games straight last year when coming back from injury. Luke played 26 games more than anyone in the squad. When you consider the hard work physically and mentally both these guys did to get back and play consistent footy, the contract extensions are so well deserved. Still waiting for official announcement on Luke, but big congrats to Billy.

I'm really happy for him, must be such a huge moment for him and his family.

3 ACL reconstructions would have lead to some very dark times and a lot of uncertainty I'm sure.

This surely also cements his spot in the starting 13, they're not handing out 3yr extensions in pre-season to someone starting in reserve grade.

Fantastic news for Billy who improved more and more last year as the season progressed, I just hope he stays injury free going forward.

The interesting thing is Billy was given a one year extension at the end of last season, so to get another 2 years doesn't look good for keeping Manu.

                      2025 backline looking like

                      Ted
                      Nawaqanitawase
                      Billy
                      * if Toia can get some games under the belt this year he would be the favourite
                      Young
                      Keary
                      Walker

Still a lot of strike power out wide

Why does everyone assume Toops is retiring?

Most on here had Jarred retiring last year too.

It was publicised when Young signed that he wanted centre. Remember this.

The club stated that but I've seen nothing from Young that resembles a centre ?? Have any of you guys ? Suualii defensively was poor at centre. In attack he was non existent and had no idea how to set up his winger. At a guess Young would be the same from what I've seen. Suualii and Young to me a purely wingers...and very very good ones at that

Toia and Smith will be our centres if the biscuit bones stay healthy and Manu leaves

Great news. If he can stay fit he's a rep player I reckon.

From what was reported at the time, Young expressed to Robbo a desire to play centre. I recall reading that he played centre before coming to Australia. Whether or not he is actually any good at centre we don’t yet know.
