Is Joey injured as he’s only listed as a reserve? No Lenui either. Great looking team though.

I wonder why they didn't name a single player not in the top 30? Will this possibly change by game day? It seems like we named the least amount of players of any team. Does anyone know if the nsw cup team have any scheduled trials? I know those players will make up the bulk of next weeks team

yeah, surprised leniu isn't playing. would have been good to get a game before it all starts. must have some niggle.
will be interesting to see if jwh travels with the team or will play the trial next week. probably he'll travel

they change the rules so not sure if that stops him from playing. would be tough as it means he's suspended for an extra match. fair enough that trials don't count as a game missed but if trials are a different kettle of fish then he should be able to play

some interesting points to note -

                Suaalii at centre experiment continues
It looks like Dockar-Clay is our backup 9, i like this rather than play Sandon or Connor there for too long

As much as i prefer Whyte on an edge if him moving into the middle gets him more game time then I'm all for it

Hutch has got the first crack at the Dogs #7 jersey to it seems - he deserves the opportunity

Stacked side, it would appear backline still shooting it out … Manu coming on will give an indication of another combo.

Can’t wait to see the boys out and about again!!

Unless we're decimated by injuries Docker Clay wont be sighted in first grade

Bought out the big guns early - seems it’s very much an internal trial for spots
only smith, jwh and Leniu missing but a very strong 21 man squad still
couple of interesting points which may show who is leading the race?
                        - Suaali over Manu ? Or is Manu Carrying an injury or not sure if he will play? Was hoping the suaali at centre experiment was over
                        - sitili and Nat butch winning the race for the back row spots
                        - Samson smith over Watson for 14 atm
                        - Egan butch and critchon still over Wong (if Gus was at his best he would be in the starting side?)
                        - Whyte in front of May?

still two forwards to get moved out once jwh and Leniu back

I would hope Tyler Moriarty is next cab off the rank if Cheese is out during the regular season.

Reading in to that Whyte and Docker Clay (both not top 17 starters) have been rewarded for a big off season. Maybe Wong is the edge forward to miss out too? Obviously Manu will come in for Round 1 so assume Aussie Joe Suaalii will miss the cut. Good to see him get another run at Centre though. Expect more names to be added to that extended bench.

Yes it's really just Cheese and Leniu who won't be lining up. A solid trial squad given the reserves too!! Wongie, Pauga, Watson and Manu are hardly randoms who we're unlikely to see in first grade (assuming we have a spell where a stack of players are rested).

Surprised to see Manly's named a much weaker squad (but a bigger one). It'll be interesting!!!
