    NRL RAM RAID

The Canberra Raiders and the Sydney Roosters will ask the NRL for clarification on the apparent inconsistency around the use of the All-Stars game to work off suspensions.

They want to know why South Sydney’s Jacob Gagai is free to play in Las Vegas after an NRL ruling on Friday that the All-Stars game counts as one week of his suspension. Gagai has never previously played in the game.

Jack Wighton also had a week taken off his suspension for the All Stars.

At the same time the NRL has rejected the Raiders move to have the All Stars game included in Sebastian Kris’ suspension which would have enabled him to play in round one against the Knights.

The Roosters were also surprised that Gagai was cleared for Vegas, they had hoped front row enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves would also have a week dedcuted from his suspension by including the All Stars game.

Like Canberra, the Roosters will contact the NRL for an explanation.

We contacted Raiders coach Ricky Stuart for his thoughts.

“I just hope I can get a proper justification on the inconsistency and not some feeble response,” Stuart said.

“I have a proud Torres Strait Island boy wanting to know why the All Stars game is not deemed important enough to serve part of his suspension as it has for other individuals,” Stuart said.

“He has missed a semi-final and three international games for his country and All Stars game, which he was desperately keen to play in.

“We will go through the right channels on Monday with the NRL to ask where the consistency is.”
Both Gagai and Kris have never played in the All Stars

How do you retire from rep footy.....but can still use rep footy as a game to come off your suspension? Im assuming if Jack Wighton cops a suspension before/during the state of origin series he would still be able to use those games to serve the suspension???? I got to be missing something?

Very harsh for someone who has given 11-12 years of wholehearted service to the RWB, regarded by most as the inspirational leader of the pack , and before you bring out his suspensions , he has done more than enough to make up for it .

                Let's play Big Dog Roulette.

                Which round will JWH be

                1 - Sin Binned
                2 - Sent off

I'll go round 3 vs Souffs.

                  No comps won without JWH.
What you don’t seem to understand is that the game of Rugby League in the NRL is a dirty, rough, tough game that blokes like you & I could never play. JWH is exactly what you need at that level. Yeah sure he sails close to the wind & gets suspended but believe me opposition teams are sh|tting themselves playing against him because he’ll farkin hurt you. If you don’t like tough, dirty players in your side then go & follow the Dragons or Tigers.

Only NRL matches (including finals) should be counted.

Take the grey areas out of the stupid rules where some games are counted and others aren't.
So many players over the years have had suspensions reduced by claiming rep or trial games.
We have seen players who have retired from rep footy and al of a sudden they claim they would have been picked so seek a reduction.

We wouldn't be whinging on here if its was only NRL matches, I'm sure the same whinging is happening on other teams forums.
Only issue is what do you do with illegal play in rep footy or trials.

                      Exactly

Barnstorming start to 23,got his new contract, then his form went south and he let down his team mates at the end of the year

His recent suspension proves that he can’t control his anger and having a superstar on the sidelines is no good for us. He is now a huge target and will have to be a saint to avoid sin bins and suspensions. Since his recent suspension, what is being done to prevent this reoccurring dilemma?

Robbos had him in the corner facing the wall all off season. If he doesn't play nice with all the other boys he'll be sent to bed without any dinner.

                          Happy?

                            True Mickie,
I reckon the Big Dog has modelled himself on Moz. Despite the suspensions, I used to love the fear factor Morley brought to our game.
Just keep doing what you’re doing Jared, we love ya big fella - F the snowflake NRL

He’s made a massive contribution. It will be difficult for us to find a replacement player who gets suspended so much!

He's been unbelievably good for our team for 10 years - sure he gets suspended a lot and that's frustrating mainly because he's such a big miss when he's out. If he wasn't so good we wouldn't care. I think the benefit of JWH far outweighs that negative. Club legend and great for the morale of the club. He bleeds RWB and is a great bloke to boot. Hope he has a ripper season and the refs lay off him a bit - he is over scrutinised by the refs and MRC.
