Tagive's form at the Jets has been up and down. In saying that, Tagive certainly has the potential to be a good replacement for Sam.....just not htis year maybe not next, maybe more 2014/15.

If Tagive wants to stay, great, he will be rewarded, if not, we have plenty of youngsters who want to take the opportunity that will be ready to replace Sam when it is required......its not required now.
Your kidding right, we should keep sammy till at least 2017 those dummy half runs bigger then Ben Hurr the movie...

I thought Sammy got ripped off not making the NZ team to Jason Nightingale whats he done, safe under the high ball, crunching defence hard to handle, good finisher, second phase play.... Is his dummy half running on par with Sammy??? no way Jose...

Don't worry concierge, i agree, i want sam to stay a career Rooster, but being reliastic, there will be a time where Sams place will come into question.......the time is not now.

It looks like we read SConcierge's post completely opposite.

are you saying that perrett would kill it at the jets? Peni looks like he has more potential then sammy, and like at parra where luke burt got dropped to reserves, then made his way back sammy could be given the same chance.

Mario, what you and the other poster are unable to comprehend is that when you are at Tagive's age you will not wait 2 or 3 years in the hope of replacing someone in the team. He will just move on in the hope of a better opportunity as he did after his tigers and dragons contracts expired. That is not to say he is better or worse than perret. It is reality. A professional footballer has a limited career and will chase an alternative elsewhere.

Firstly, Parra dropping Burt was ****ing stupid, plain and simple, that was the worst desicion kearney had made and it showed Big time when he was dropped. Just cause it happened, doesn't mean it's right and parra's form proves it.

Now on to sam, what is the reason to drop him? What is so bad of his performances that requires him to be dropped??? or is playing consistantly well just not good enough?

The last I remember was when he outsprinted Balin in 2010. I think I recall another against the Storm but Woolnough may have run him down.
You may be right that we haven't seen this from him for a while. I just got back from a few months interstate and I've only been watching casually on telly this season. I do get the impression Perrett's been a bit below his best (notwithstanding his nice try against the Knights): markers are even cutting down his dummy-half darts more effectively recently. And last year he did have a lengthy stint on the sideline.

From memory, he made two or three line breaks against the Storm in the 2010 match you refer to. I'm sure there were others that season, and in previous years--including splitting through at dummy-half or first receiver from inside our own quarter, and at first receiver from scrums a couple of times. He has great leg strength and better footwork than many give him credit for, and certainly has the capacity to bust the line. 'Tis a shame about the lack of pace.

I think the question is are there better options than Sammy? Tagive showed enough in his last two games that he offers more than Pez in speed, height and under the high ball. His dummy half running is ok too. Moga showed on Saturday that he should be given more opportunities in NRL and I could not see Pez scoring the try he did. Pez's time is coming as the younger, faster, taller, stronger, younger players come through.

I'm more interested in what we will do with our 3 centres (Moga/BJ/SKD) in the future..
Despite what people say, Leilua is not a better 2nd Rower than the ones we have, and I think Moga is a centre, Saturday night probably showed that.
Looks like Moga's gonna be spending some time on the wing I think.

Firstly, don't tell me what i can or cannot comprehend, i can comprehend it quite well, but i put this to you, he has signed a 2 year contract, he plays where he gets told to play, He needs to make the desicion we all need to make, "will there be an opportunity for me here or not?" Thats up to him, if he believes there is, he will stay,if he believes there isn't..... he will go, it's a desicion all players face, not just a young bloke like tagive.

and who's to say he isn't used as a back up winger elsewhere if he signs somewhere else?? is that much more of an opportunity than staying where he is?? again, comes to the desicion he needs to make when the question comes up.

2 years is a long time and alot can change in that time frame

Agreed, there will be a time where pez will either be pushed out or will have to decide if he can keep up or not. I just believe it's not now.

agreed on Moga as well, needs more NRL exposure, he OOZES talent.

About time some of you gurus have woken up, me and funky chicken and only a few others worked him out 4-5 yrs old. Perrett is the biggest protected species ever in rooster forum history. IMO the weakest link after Ana$ta.

What else does this one trick pony offer apart from dummy half runs? And for all these dummy half runs have they ever lead to a try like say Justin Hodges runs do.

And how come bogeyes never learns from his mistakes. He is like a Goldfish who forgets everything when they swim to the other side of the fishbowl.
