  • Sam Perrett

I can't believe there hasnt been anything written up about him.

He is a bumbling fool on the wing who offers NOTHING! Constantly beaten in the air.

It's time to go Sammy..from all reports he's been told to look elsewhere.

Replace him with Glover next week. Take that poor excuse for a 5/8th with you.

I will be sad to see him go but the team is moving a different direction and I don't think that Sammy will be part of it.

If we don't sign Perret on for next season I can only see Tagive and BJ as our wingers. Is there anyone from 20's or Jett's that could step up in your opinion?

        Beat me to it mate..........

I love the kid to death and I wish all our younger guys could have the same courage as him but he needs to move on in order for us to move forward.

What Moga showed us yesterday is that our investment in youth is paying off big time and with outside backs like rokolati, Rona and forester coming through the ranks will pay dividends in the not too distant future. Perrett has done a decent job filling the void of one of the wings over the years but now with all these young guys in our team it would seem foolish to keep him, especially with Tagive coming good as well.

Wasn't a game for the backs yesterday.

I thought yesterday we learnt just how valuable a good centre/wing combo is worth to a team in defence. Moga & Leilua got carved up... or am are we just ignoring that because they're both great prospects?

And Anasta had nothing to do with that sides defence ????

How is he a superstar after one game? And how does someone become overrated after one game? Possibly the most ludicrous comment I've read for a while.

I'm yet to watch a replay but seemed like Leilua was caught way too far infield (which he's been guilty of in the past) on a few occasions and his communication with Moga was non existent meaning he was often found in no mans land.

Anasta's generally been a great defender ever since he arrived I'd be surprised if it was a direct result of him.

Watch the replay a bit closer then.

Linebreak @ 9.45 Leilua rushes up instead of sliding and gets caught way too far in field, Hurrell makes a linebreak before getting ankle tapped by Moga
Linebreak @ 27.40 Leilua gets caught in field Anasta defending in the centres and Hurrell absolutely burns him with his acceleration.
Linebreak @ 34.20 Mannering turns the ball back inside, sliding cover in Tasi is too slow to come across & Mini can't hold Hurell up, real lack of communication and structure on the inside.

Braith was definitely at fault for one of the breaks but to be fair he was defending out of position, before anyone jumps all over me I'm not defending his performance just analysing who was at fault for the poor defence down the left. Obviously one game is way to small of a sample size to form an definitive opinion but there's a long way for that whole left hand fringe to go (Guerra included).

Both were mate. If Anasta does his job properly on both plays the tries are not scored. First one BJ had come in to make a tackle and was marker, Anasta marked up at centre poorly then didn't trust his markers. Second one was probably a mix between Anasta following an attacker across field despite Hurrell's under run being telegraphed and slow movement from Tasi from marker. Neither were Leilua or Moga's fault. However, they did look hesitant to start letting Hurrell over only to be held up by Mini. I'd agree though, until this game Anasta's defence has been adequate. Except for his game against melbourne, that was rubbish!

Anasta is way out of the line and Moga was just marking his winger. At first it looked like it was Moga's fault but as second look I see who's fault it really is..

BTW!! Won't happen but we should try and get Konrad Hurrell. Imagine him as centre and Moga on the wing. That sort of attacking power makes me drool. And a good half to give them good space to work with.

The problem is Anasta should be defending in the middle where there is little need for lateral movement.. In all honesty one of these would move faster than Anasta.
