I respect Sam Perrett as a person, as far as I know his behaviour has been exemplary while he's been at the Roosters, and his dedication to his family is beyond reproach. That said, his footballing skills have become suspect.

The future was on show Saturday Night, Moga is going to be huge.

I see this as the future back five.

    1. RTS
    2. Peni Tagive
    3. SKD
    4. BJ
    5. Moga.

There's much to like about it.

Moga will be in the centre and BJ in the pack imo. that wing spot therefore remains vacant. I would really like to see us secure oldfield and gagai. Both would come pretty cheap circumstances considered (1 bloke who has had his contract torn up; the other currently out of favour and off-contract at a club that has just spent massive money re-signing all their stars who came off-contract at the same time).

Doesnt make sense to me to push BJ in the forwards when we have plenty, Moga should learn his trade on the wing and will play equally well there which allows BJ to play centre where he should be.

Moving BJ back to the wing would be a demotion.

I appreciate Sam P's efforts and his scoots from dummy half and quick play the balls are very valuable....but, he remains a liability under the high ball. The Warriors bombed him plenty on Saturday. All teams should.

Sam is a great player. One of the most valuable players to the team. Gets most of our sixes off on the advantage. Will be our winger for a long time yet.

Have to agree. Pez will stay and keep making metres. Just needs to reduce his error count.

I personally think he is great at handling the high ball, it is just his height that lets him down on those cross field bombs. I think if Sammy also recieved better ball in attack, he would be a lot better thought of on this forum. I will agree that he didnt have a great game on the weekend, but I would not get rid of him so easily. He gets quick play the ball, earns 1 or 2 penalties a game from struggling in the ruck and he has on man occasions, made line breaks out of absolutely nothing, just simply shrugging off defenders. Saying that, I personally think he will have a couple more years with us before we opt for a tall, fast winger

Leilua's defence has always been suspect for mine.

He leaked points in the St.George GF. And he's only marginally better 18 months later.

Still, I think Moga and Peni are better wing options than old Sammy.

I think you'll find Perrett's error rate is quite good, certainly the best of all our backs. Especially when you take into consideration the amount of touches and runs he has. I suggest people solely blaming Perrett for the Manu try need to watch the replay and take a look at the protection that SKD gives him. He runs through manu's path to the ball about two seconds too early and Pez is left with no protection against a taller man with a run up. Every other team in the comp is good at protecting their catchers, it's about time we got a lot better in that department. To add to his poor protection he actually runs way past into the in-goal so then when Manu catches the ball he has to attempt the tackle right on the line. If he at least stays in the vicinity of the leap he can tackle Manu as soon as he catches the ball. I too would prefer a faster taller winger but i think Perrett is being crucified for the wrong reasons in this thread tbh.

Did yous know Perret turns 30 today,,geez his getting old,,
I agree that he is valuable to the side but surely just a 1yr contract like mini's would be enough until tagive rts or moga cement there spots...

In a team that has lacked flair, he doesn't get enough credit for this. Other than SKD he has been the one guy able to bust through without being put into a gap by one of our halves. Unfortunately his ordinary pace means he can rarely go all the way or even set up a try from the same play. However, he has at times turned the momentum of games for us with a line break from our own half.
