coach Morris very happy from his first half stint... long 6mths of rehab, to finally get back on for a run.., looks like precautionary, he wanted to finish game but medical staff said no.., initially 1-2wks low grade ankle sprain...

Cup side will be competitive this year! Uppa Roosters!

Thanks Uncle. He looked good, too.

I see DLS he is starting in SG Ball tomorrow. Hows is he looking for this year?

I think he is taking the mickie Sam.
I hope he says it every game because for the last 2 weeks that he has said the opposition by 30 the Roosters have won.

The forwards deserve a lot of the credit as mentioned, Corey Ross went the distance I think ...well all but.

But I want to give a rap to the unheralded halves Joe Taipara and Coby Thomas. Great control and composure, but good options to constantly threaten the defence.

The only thing that worries me with a show like this is poachers marking down some of these names to target. Geez I hope some of these guys progress to the top with us. Its a testiment to our development systems now.
What is the roosters academy players? They mentioned it a few times, are they players that haven’t come from our lowers grades

How does this pre-season comp work? Are we a chance of getting the cash?

I enjoyed this game more than last weeks. Well done boys.

Souths couldn’t handle the relentless energy from the team. Plenty got a run tonight and all impressed. They looked a cohesive unit led by Napa.

With the turnover of players in the next few years, there's plenty of opportunity for the next crop to make grade.

                * The Fijian no. 12, Meli Nasau, reminded me of Akuila Uate.

We won both games so I guess we're in with a chance. However. I think it's weighted towards stats like offloads and linebreaks? I heard the commentators suggesting we should just push a head of offloads in order to win heaps of bonus points.

What happened to old mate Uate BTW?

He was another one of those blokes they claimed could give me a run for my money over 100m (all lies). However, every time I saw him he looked unimpressively thick and slow.

Wasn't he part of Wayne Bennett's 'who would I pick if there was no salary cap?' Knights squad. Ooooh yeah baby...

                    1. Darius Boyd
                    2. Uate
                    3. Tahu
                    4. Matty Utai
                    5. McManus

Watch out boys, that backline's stacked with speed and rep players

On that note, what happened to McManus, Tahu, Darius and Pete Utai? I'd add Mase to the list but I love his poddie.

                      Hey Uncle
Can't wait to see both bros playing together in the not too distant future.

Vossy spoke well about your boys while Xavier was on the field. He played hard.

Apparently, he mentioned a 3rd brother.
Is he also contracted to us?

Cheers and best wishes to the family!

                        Hey Milanja,

There's a very informative thread that was posted a few days ago titled...
                        Article in the Rupert Newspapers.

I suggest you read it to learn more about our Academy .
                        Thoroughly enjoyable too.

Thanks mate. Brother #3 Aloysius... 15yrs & catching the other 2 in height... leaner build, prefers edge but plays a lot of middle. Currently signed to the Roosters development pathway for u16s whilst living in QLD ...& hoping to play HM next year.

Salle, Robert's, Steep have all been training with the nrl squad over the preseason & up until their departure to Vegas.

He's enjoyed a solid start to the season, & the team is showing a lot of promise to feature strongly in this comp, under coach Friend. A second half of the season, run of big games to come, in the next month, will determine their future... including Penrith, St George, Knights, & Wests... it's possible to win them all, then we should win the comp... win 3/4 we finish in the finals... win 2/4 we rely on other results to make finals... just my opinion.
