i'm not against the attempt to open up america as a market for nrl but it works both ways - nrl players are getting exposure in a market where there's more money to throw around. hope the american deal doesn't cause us to lose players.
it's like - is it sensible to send out capsules to space telling people where earth is? what happens if the intelligent beings who receive them don't have our best interests at heart?

I don't see the "magic" myself. A desert in every sense of the word. Bernie Gurr took the game there in the past but those exhibitions came to not much in the scale of things over there. Of course the gambling angle makes a sort of sense, unpalatable as that might be - our game attempting to spread misery. Loved Roy and HG's take - exporting "gambling with mates".
