if Vic can play close to that level in our matches, we go a long way this year.

Good game from the boys first up.. remember our top side was reshuffled twice before kick off..some cobwebs but still a good win.
Teddy my MOM Rads and Manu follow ..and I will give keary some credit they ran at him non stop..he took it on and defended well..and The little cutie Walker has some steel now. Kicking game is longer as well.
Terryl May made a big difference he is a must keep .
Lindsay worked his ass off .
The cheese bothers me started like a house on fire then died in the ass...he has to face his reality he is a back rower.
Sandon Smith..this kid is going to get better and better.
I want to see Moriarty get a run during the season..man that bloke is shit hot.
The old injuries curse is still around our necks ..we have the back up utilise it .
Wished I was there to give it to those Souffs inbreeds ..how did they sneak in to Vegas ..were they hiding in the Mexican Churro carts crossing the border...I'm calling you Rusty see you at our next game.
Jarrod was at the WWE practicing his ... The
Peoples Elbow.
Happy for the people that travelled there...Hookerfest 2024 is on.Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Late to the party, but obviously extremely happy with the win. I think even more satisfying was that we were far from our best. Could've been a whole lot better with all the field possession we had in 1st half. We kicked on in the 2nd half again and were the better team from minute 1 to minute 80, but couldn't ice it on the scoreboard. If we clicked quicker, we could've won by a lot more, but it's Rd1 so to be expected. Most importantly, the defence was on song from the get go. A little issue with cohesion in attack is completely to be expected this early. So positive signs.
Our forwards were monsters against theirs. May, Radley and Collins the main highlights. Absolutely insane performance from all 3. Long may that continue.
I also think despite young Pauga nobly filling in, with some of the early ball he got, DY would've finished off and we would've won by more. That's exciting.
JS probably played his best game at centre, still wasn't amazing and seems to only straighten up and run hard but defensively sound.
Awesome start to the season that shows we have the capabilities and the personnel to go very very far this season.

I've more optimistic about him having to fill at centre this year than i was before the season started thats for sure.

His best traits are his leaping ability/aerial threat and he runs really hard. That's about it. He has no step , passing game, footwork or pace. Perhaps a role on the bench as a backrower/x Factor throughout the season?
I agree that Billy Smith as a natural centre would've done better with some of the chances we made when we shifted the ball out there, especially when JS got 1 on 1 with Cobbo, looked a little lost.
Because JS is 100% effort everytime he plays, I'm always going to be a fan but it's strange someone so highly touted doesn't seem to have the attacking polish to his game and is just a tough, hard running winger/utility. Not a bad player to have in the squad though for the rest of the year.
