  • James Tedesco > Reece Walsh

Teddy sure showed the man with manicured eyebrows how to play tonight.

I think it was as good an opening round by the Roosters that I've seen in many years.

    Long may it continue.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Anyone with any footy nous could see the narrower field very much negated Walsh and his speed Still set up both their tries though

    Teddy was great once again

We can’t beat that day. We won. Souths loss. Perfection.

Excellent performance by Teddy. Walsh may have been curtailed by the width but he was still well held by Roosters pressure and defence. I agree that it was as good an opening as we have had in many years.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Teddy was all class today.

            Guess who's back, back again?
            Teddy's back, tell a friend.

            Teddy was outstanding!

Apparently he's unbeatable at training over a short distance.

I think the best was teddys 2 attacking jumps for high balls which he got back twice
made up for the Origen one v Collins last year
teds in for a big year again

                  Walsh's ego is his undoing.

Yep, but considering that this is only the 2nd win in the last 7 years...there ain't too many other recent nominations to choose from.

But it's great to start a season on a high...i missed rd1 wins. Wins like this should be momentum..

Oh god, are all of the resident naysayers who bag out the players and coach going to be this insufferable after every win?

Nat Butcher's last ditch tackle on a flying Walsh in the first half was one of the biggest plays of the game. Not many players make that tackle.

And all you can talk about is the narrow field was a hindrance to Walsh?

You and Bateman's Bay Rooster should get a room.

                              It's like... spot the eyebrow!

FWIW I think Walsh comes across as being humble and a pretty decent dude (and he is very talented).

However I don't think the current Brisbane squad's destined for greatness. Also, IMO he'll become a bit of a Ponga if he stays there too long. Talented dude who's always up for Origin, but nothing else. No growth in his game over the years and no premierships/leadership growth...etc aside from being told 'well mate you're half our salary cap so you've gotta lead!!!'
