I don’t post here much but the media (and social warrior) pile on that is happening to one of our own has me fuming and needing to vent. Yesterday at one point there was no less than 8 articles / clips on the Daily Telegraph website all painting Leniu as pure evil in a human form. Who owns the DT……Newscorp, who owns 68.8% of the Brisbane Broncos… Newscorp. The same organisation who owns the Broncos is dictating the narrative and indirectly putting pressure on the NRL for an outcome which appeases the mob which they (and Latrell Mitchell) are inciting. How can this guy possibly get a fair hearing?

Bingo. Even if they can’t prove anything - it’s looking like an extended holiday. In the media’s minds it’s been said - and we have to blame the plethora of outlets and current players gaslighting the entire situation. Get your clicks - okay - but trial while it’s still all alleged and nothing concrete should not have happened. That’s the world we live in today. Innocent until proven guilty is a thing of the past.

Mitchell has been shouting for half a season ban of 12 weeks. Just hope he gets maybe a fine. But 12 weeks would be a disaster. The bigger issue is America is a racist sensitive country and if we want to return to Vegas then he may have to be made an example of. Americans will want to see we take racism seriously. But if it happened here I think he would if proven get only a fine or a couple of weeks.

CH9 showed footage of when he supposedly said it. He was mid tackle on Haas and was clearly going back and forth verbally with Mam. I refuse to believe nothing was said to him to initiate this alleged response. Then Mam complained about 1 minute later when the play was stopped.

Spencer Leniu's lawyer should rock up to the judiciary and say "prove it". If there's no proof then offer to take them to court.

The NRL should individually interview the Broncos players who allegedly say they heard what was said to see if their version of events actually match up.
If they don't, then case closed and Spencer is free to go ...

NRL 360 stated that there was no audio evidence of the comment. I’m not sure how reliable NRL360’s knowledge is but if that’s true than Spencer’s case has become a lot easier

We have to wait and see what Spencer Leniu pleads as the judiciary tribunal is on next Tuesday.

Other sites are saying there is no audio, plus the outcome will be down to which players are believable on the night—mmm, without evidence or an admission, it's she said he said evidence.

There was insufficient evidence to charge Mitchell Barnett for an allegation of a racial slur against Tyrone Peachey that also went to the judiciary. Barnett allegedly called Peachey a black c..t

Leniu's brother has certainly not helped Spencer's case with the below post.

Unless it was going on before that tackle, the only players around the situation shown were Haas,Walters,Mam and Wong. If any other players claim to have heard it from further away, then you would think the ref mic would have heard it too.

I believe that’s his cousin but I seriously doubt him posting that will impact the case. If S. Leniu didn’t post it than hopefully it won’t be relevant
