He’s innocent until proven demonstrably guilty ( ie audio not team mate accounts ) I support Spencer and so should any true Roosters supporter

"Roosters prop Spencer Leniu has been charged by the NRL after Ezra Mam alleged he aimed a racial slur at him on the field during the Las Vegas season opener. Leniu has been referred straight to the NRL judiciary, having been hit with a contrary conduct charge without a grading"

The team member accounts concern me as this is the same club who sent in team members to vouch for Reece Walsh not calling the ref a c**t when the video footage was very clear. Then those same players joked about it on live TV at the end of the year basically admitting they gave false testimonials the NRL judicary.

I hope Spencer and Mam just clear it all up, a few games suspension if necessary and let's move on.

We all hate racism and would like to see it eradicated however I find this ever increasing Aboriginal victimhood status is getting worse by the day. Leniu himself is a dark colour. If I had a dollar for everytime I've heard a black comedian call someone ni#$er, I'd be very wealthy. The hypocrisy is mind blowing. So Leniu in the heat of the battle allegedly called him a monkey, really, and because of that Esra Man is in the sheds crying. Get over it. I get called worse things on this forum. Plead not guilty Spencer, don't let the morons hang you over that.

The black demands are getting out of control and do we really want a baying mob string up Leniu for such a benign comment. I know I'm fed up with all this rubbish, it's just getting out of control. No one can tell me that our coloured players don't racially vilify the white players during matches. The difference is, the white players don't worry about it, you know the saying "What happens on the field stays on the field". Let common sense prevale and stop with this racially devisive nonsense.
You are hitting it out of the park today mate.

Leniu should just say that Mam called him a coconut. No one heard it? Tough shit, that’s what he said.

force them to either suspend them both or let them both go

What you’ve said brings a whole new light to this Were any player or players who say they heard the comment involved in lying to the judiciary about Walsh

Whilst there is zero demonstrable evidence of Spencer saying such a thing there should be no suspension I stand with Spencer

Leniu was an idiot but I hope the judiciary can maintain some perspective when they determine the suspension. Jordan McLean copped 7 weeks for a tackle that put Alex McKinnon in a wheelchair, so you’d hope it would be less than that for making Mamm cry. Mamm had other things to cry about too - the disappointment of the loss and the fact that he played like shit, single handedly gifting the Roosters two tries.

I don’t understand why our own supporters are already sanctioning suspensions Unless something has come out in the last 20 minutes there is zero demonstrable evidence against Spencer

Of course, I don’t know what evidence will be presented by either side, but if a few Broncos claim they heard him use those words that will probably be enough to see him convicted. They are now reporting in the Murdoch press that he confronted Mamm in the hotel, telling him such matters should be “left on the field”. He had to be dragged away by a Roosters minder.

He doesn’t sound like a person with particularly good judgement.

I’ve read the Broncos players confronted him Also they can’t be trusted they’ve already been proven demonstrable liars last year with Walsh

The NRL will be setting a very dangerous precedent if they convict Leniu on the alleged hear say of the accusers team mates

Racism can't be let go, but it would be sad and ridiculous if they throw the book at him as part of the modern day must be seen to be anti racist crusade, whilst players who do head slams and other dangerous violent acts get 2 weeks.

Things get said in the heat of battle. Why not a system where, if it's the first time you've been charged with making a racist remark, you have the chance to admit it, speak with the player you said it to and apologise, and we move on? If you become a repeat offender then fair enough, you should do some time.

If the hotel story is true perhaps ...I heard an alternate version that said a couple of Brisbane players approached Spencer on the matter in the first instance.

Maybe Ezra's judgement in dobbing on the field could be queried too? He would have been a bastard in the playground at skool.

                              Pathetic.
