It really gets me why we buy these players that often get suspended and bring clubs into disrepute. Leniu’s first game and the NRL look likely to be pressured by the likes of Mitchell and his mates to do a long stint on the side lines. We just have JWH returning soon only to lose another player on a long suspension. If it’s the roosters you can forget about fines. The judiciary are renowned for their bias against our players. So please Uncle Nick, don’t employ anymore of these guys who get paid top money just to sit on the sidelines. Only one game in and this is the last thing we needed.

We should find out soon any developments there… it’s not a good look for the nrl with all these players coming out on social
media against racism when they haven’t done the investigation yet. Puts pressure on a lengthy punishment …

It’s just our luck, we look to have prepared perfectly for the season and started stronger than we have in years.. only for this to happen.. honestly just drop the guy and hope it doesn’t derail our season before it’s even started.. we seen drama in the past ruin seasons.

Honestly, I don't know if it's more so hope on my part, but when I listened to Leniu's statement on "it's all fun and games", I thought it was a tiny bit out of context. He was specifically asked if he wanted to comment on it, and his response was essentially, or at least sounded to me like "No, I don't want to comment on it. Lets just leave the situation on the field". I don't know, that's just how it sounded to me. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

If he is found guilty (and I hope they require genuine evidence for that to be the case), then I do expect he will spend quite a lengthy time on the sidelines.

I don't think that kind of language will be something Robinson is particularly in favour of.

How about we just back our own player,I mean jeez we’re quick to jump in & defend the opposition or weak lefties media types. If there is proven audio, sure investigate, but until then it’s all speculation by a bunch of soft pc pricks always defending the flavour of the day. Pressure all you want, but unless there is audio then they can stick it up their stress. It’s also not a bad look because he’s still innocent. That changes if proven guilty, but until then we should stop jumping on our own players & club. He will be a long term player either way & he was good in his 1st hit out,so glad we signed him. I’ll still defend him either way as I honestly don’t know a person who hasn’t said similar or worse, despite you all claiming otherwise.

My father used to call me a monkey as I was small..no offence meant or taken. A good aussie expression stop monkeying around, get the monkey off your back. Looking for offence where there isn't one. Harden up Mam and stop being a little girl...or is that offensive to girls...

Yep, and I said similar in Carlos' thread before it got deleted. If calling someone a monkey is the worst thing you have said of a person then you are ready to be canonised.

Josh Maguire got 12 weeks for the same offence in the Super League.

I think we should defend Spencer particularly given the incident hasn't been fully investigated yet. If they cannot find any evidence then it is Mams word against Spencer's and you can't suspend someone for that.

Cody Walker got 2 weeks for snap kicking someone from behind which usually results in jail time , and Latrell is the first to hide behind racism to excuse when he's out of form. Those peanuts are hardly ones to stand on their soapbox.

Spencer was brought to the club for his potential but also because he has a mean streak and aggressive side to him. Robbo said as much after the incidents he's had with Milne and our very own JWH. The higher ups have obviously deemed these risks worth it and I think given he is now Rooster he should be defended by the board, the coach and the fans to the fullest extent regardless of the outcome.

If he said it, doesnt make him a racist and we don't need to overreact as a club. From the outside, a lengthy suspension would be an extreme overreaction to appease a biased anti-Rooster agenda that seems to be omnipresent nowadays.

Why not remove the witch hunt and sit the two down to sort it between themselves instead of succumbing to pressure of social justice warriors. Yes, racism is bad. However, don’t use a he said she said as a way to demonstrate the games stance on racism. If there’s evidence then consider the intent and act accordingly, if there’s not then be sensible, address it like you would in a work environment, and move on

He may have not had anything racial in mind, but surely people know if you say anything like that you are in trouble!

Will the Bronco players that confronted Leniu also be cited? Surely, the NRL can't condone players taking matters into their own hands.

Thats far too sensible a suggestion mate, in this era of being offended on behalf of others and wielding a burning torch and pitchfork.

I do fear that PVL will want to set a harsh example of Spencer due to the American connection. Expecting a big over-reaction in the sanctions.

I love players with a hard edge and a little attitude.

                            I'm a fan!

He’s gonna get farked by the NRL if proven guilty. No doubt about that.
