    Yes.
You cannot call an Indigenous person names today, obviously.

I’ve never heard a security guard referred to as a gorilla.

If leniu did say what is reported to Mam, it would of been good if he tried to make amends after the incident.

his cousin is doing him no favours by posting crap on social media, it’s only gonna get worse.

plenty of people are also bringing teddys “squid game” comments up again now too, starting to look bad for us.

must be a marketing nightmare with the roosters playing manly next round, the anti rainbows v alleged racists.
Worry not, we can't be any more hated and any more disadvantaged in refereeing.

Regardless, how absurd it'll be if gets 8+ weeks like they're suggesting, when dangerous violent attacks including head slams can get a fine or a couple of weeks at most.

Things get said in the heat of battle. Imagine some of the things Mitchell would have said to white players. If it's a first offence, you should be allowed to admit it, apologise, maybe a fine, and we move on. Heard today there is very little precedent for the judiciary. Gallen was found guilty of racial vilification in 2012 and got a $10,000 fine.

I'm tipping no audio so no evidence
        Fark I hope your right

Apparently there is a Broncos Monkey for sale on Australian Memorabilia, 24cm official nrl merch. Not sure if it is legit.
would this be considered racist? Probably would now and will be removed from sale if it is correct

But racism doesn’t belong in the game and if they have to dish out harsh penalties to stamp it out so be it.

Those calling it nothing and not worth any time on the sidelines would still feel the same if the situation was reversed. I see it here often where we want the book thrown at an opposition player but when it’s our own doing it the NRL are over reacting.
            Not at all.

Things get said on the field and man testosterone gets going.
It's war on the field. Hardened the fark up or dont play.

At the end of the game, we always either shook hands and had a beer with each other or we offered to sort it out in the carpark later.

            Words ffs.

Someone should buy it and throw it on to the field next time we play them at Allianz

One great ape accuses another great ape of calling him a monkey. All of this trouble came about when seventeen men representing male chickens were in contest with another seventeen men representing wild horses. Observers were initially worried that it was going to rain cats and dogs around the stadium where the pigskin was being played with.

For those looking to be offended, we literally are great apes. For those wishing to associate 'monkey' with racism; into the damn bloody paddy wagon you go before you call a woman hysterical again.

Heresy was once a crime punishable by death. The word f**k was first ever used... in the poem 'Flen flyys' (fleas & flies). Things change. Be more like Ringo.

end of the day only white people can be racists. we can be called white c#@nts and not take offence to it. I'm so getting sick that any one who has indigenous in them has an opinion and have laid a platform for Spencer's hanging. move on. play the tape with the evidence and do what's fair. dangerous precedent they're entering here

Imagine a mother making that reference to the behaviour a black child. For all we know, even if Leniu said the word it could have been a reference to Mam's taunting behaviour.

NRL would still hammer Leniu if it was a behavioural reference. It is like the latest codes from woke HR that intent doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is if a person takes offence to the language. To that I say GAGF, if you can't take it then don't dish it.
As I said context and intent are always important in these matters.

A mother saying monkey see, monkey do to her kids holds significantly different context and intent.

I'm exclusively talking about what Leniu said and the morality of it.

There is no one rule fits all, as I said context and intent matters.

If I'm mucking around with my mate Dumbo and we are enjoying each other's humour then it's just good banter.

If I walked into work tomorrow and started to take the piss out of the new intern for having big ears then I am a bit of a dickhead.

I don't believe any word or topic should be taboo in the right environment but as a society we do have social norms that we all do our best to try and abide by so we can get along. Without these it would be a miserable place to leave.

So when they cross paths on the field again there shouldn't be a problem with him calling him a "cheeky monkey" for all the furore he caused?
