  • Lote Tuqiri's absurd "gaslighting" comments

I just re-listened to the press conference part when they asked Robbo about the incident.

You can't hear the audio too clearly, but the first journo who raises the issue says at the tail end of his question says "Kevvie is adamant that it happened"

Robbo responds "Kevvie is adamant?" The reporters say no Esra was adamant. Robbo says, "ok so Esra was adamant, not Kevvie"

Robbo then says "ok so he made the complaint, that doesn't mean it's right, it'll go through the appropriate process and channels..."

Lote Turiri's response the next day?

“If a player says he’s been racially vilified on a footy field, it’s happened!!,” Tuqiri tweeted. “You can mask it and say it’s in the heat of the battle, etc etc. But I don’t get how Trent Robinson sits in a post match press conference and accuses Ezra of not being right. “(The ‘doesn’t mean it’s right’ comment) is some sort of gaslighting rubbish I didn’t think would come out of Trent Robinson’s mouth."

So Lote do we not have any sort of process or anything, and all complaints of a racial nature are just deemed as proven?

What if someone else said it? What is the player heard wrong?

They can't play the victim race card fast enough guys like Tuqiri, and Mitchell

Look, I don’t think Robbo should have said the “that doesn’t make it right part,” but Tuqiri is a fool.

“If a player says he’s been racially vilified on a footy field, it’s happened!!,” is ridiculous illogical, and makes me question why these idiots are applauded

Robinson should’ve been smarter and said less because the sad reality is in the court of public perception truth doesn’t matter and many more will see Tuquri misquoting him than will actually watch the post match press conference and understand that Tuquri has twisted his words.

Robbo is correct in saying "the complaints been made but doesn't mean it's right"

There are processes to establish the truth.

False allegations are made all the time by vindictive people (not saying he is) or the wrong word is heard or someone told him what they heard was said about him..etc.

It would be ridiculous he gets a harsh sentence because some Broncos team mates reckon they heard it.

Ah yes "gaslighting"... just need some hero to come out with 'marginalised" and we'll have completed the woke outcry bingo card in record time.

Lote doesn’t have a great record, didn’t he backed Ben Barba after he was sacked for domestic violence.

Time Roosters players and officials stopped talking to the media, totally.
No post match press conferences, no interviews, at all.

Oh, press conferences are mandatory, in coach's and captain's contracts.
No worries..."No comment" solves the problem.
                      ...as Tony Abbott discovered.
He used to get 'trapped' by certain median in doorstop interviews, bombarded with questions.
He stopped giving them, said "no comment" and kept walking.
Did his future talking by media release.

                      Trent should've said "No Comment".
                      He didn't, and now this.
Best way to not have your words come back to haunt you..is to not to say any in the first place.
                      Silence is golden.
"You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law".
                      Exactly.
                      Say nothing, lose nothing.

All he did was point out there is a process and just because there is an allegation that's not the end of the story. Totally fine what he said, not pre judging anything, didn't deny anything, just clarifying the process. You can find fault with anything 6.

Hardly even reported in the mainstream media, I think even they're aware Tuqiri's comments were idiotic

"Prime Minister has glowing support for Sam Kerr in wake of allegations".

                          Well there you go.

No mention about glowing support for Spencer Leniu in wake of allegations.

                          Oh well, such is life.

The NRL learned nothing from Shaun Kenny-Dowall driving out to the Gap.
