  • Terrell May plays Origin this year

His back end of last year was incredible and based on his round 1 performance I think he’s gone up another couple of gears. Some of his defensive work against Brisbane really went under the radar the first time I watched the game but watching it back he came up with some really impressive defensive plays.

I think he takes that number 8 spot in Round 2 and I think he plays origin this year. Uncle Nick needs to step in and get that contract signed please.

Interesting, and if he plays as he has been, there could be a chance, Haas is the mainstay and will be for years, although i don’t think he has dominated any origin game, trusty old Jake turbo needs to be there for his consistency, but it’s pretty open after that, paulo,RCG,saifiti will be in the mix again, but Madge will hopefully want some new blood, I’d like to see Olakauatu in there too.

I respect the admiration for Terrell. He's a gun.

But who cares. I dont care about Origin, it is a distraction for our ultimate goal. Terrell will be a premiership winner this year (fingers crossed).

Right now I’d rather read a thread guessing which Super fund each player is with than another Spencer Leniu thread.

It’s more a recognition of his level than an origin discussion.

Haas & Paulo will be there again but I think all the other positions in the front row are up for grabs.

I really like Jake but he’s almost exclusively a defensive specialist at that level and I just think there’s probably some more well rounded players now who could take his position whilst being able to share his defensive workload.

            Good post.

Gee he has been very good in nearly every game since his debut for us.

Seems to be completely different to most big pigs in his playing style with his best still ahead of him. Lindsay & May are good enough to take us ahead

            Please get this done Uncle

He’s definitely a chance of being in the squad. Other than Haas - not sure anyone else is guaranteed a spot - particularly under a new coach with hopefully new ideas.

Would offer a whole new dimension to the NSW forward packs of the past few years. So sick of watching overrated plodders like Paulo and the Saifiti brothers - will never understand why they constantly get plaudits.

Good thread R6. May is a terror and is still a few years off his peak.

Yes May has huge upside. How strong does our forward pack look this year.

On his poddie, Mase was saying that with no disrespect to Collins, his ceiling for club-level performance is higher than where he's at based on his Origin level. In the same breath he said that May has no right to be out-performing him at club level, but he is in many aspects of his game...

IMO he'd definitely be factored into conversations about Origin, particularly because he can do a lot of damage in short stints (plus stay on for 50+ if needed). If they pick 4 props then who would they be? Haas, Trbo (can't see them not being selected?)... TPJ is gone (sorta) and Paulo wasn't amazing. So from there it's guys like Reagan Julia Gillard or whatever?

He's hot and IMO NSW don't have that many props right now, unless I'm forgetting some.

Big call to say he is ready for origin. I can't recall whether he has been picked in any of the development squads. They are normally the best indicator of who is on the origin radar.

Definitely has potential to play for the Blues and should be considered in the emerging blues squad for the series next year but I'd still like to see him get a full season under his belt where he is playing consistently for us in the 17 man line up (subject to injuries, suspensions etc) every round. It may be too early to blood him in this series but if he stays on track, no doubt he'll be considered for the 2025 series and beyond !

                          Hahaha fair call.

I'm sure Uncle Nick advises them well on what super fund to go with.

You are right though. Terrell is a beast. as Robbo says, never seems to get tired.

Yes I think the origin and champion tags are a trifle premature.

What I do know is that a props crop of JWH, Lindsay, Spencer, TMay and Whytey gives us the foundation to shake the life out of this comp.

Good point. May is really improving rapidly. If he plays Origin it might make it hard to keep him though.
