We can indeed. It's new territory for him. I guess Leniu not being white, it was heading there anyway, but he still had to pull the card out. Against Mundine he has...nothing.

In the Telegraph this afternoon Rothfield claims that Lenui was reacting to a sledge but he believes what happens on the field stays on the field so he staying mum. Will be a fascinating judiciary hearing.

I don't care whether she's indigenous or not. The problem is people saying her comments weren't racist, while at the same time having conniptions about Spencer's comment.

There was an article in the now pathetic SMH today, under the headline "Sam Kerr had a shocker of a night, but racist she ain't", where the female journalist talked about Sam shoulder charging a male spectator who had invaded the field in a soccer game (and was clothed, jogging slowly, no threat to anyone and not even looking in her direction when she hit him). The "journalist" then went on to talk about women being down trodden by men. This lead her to conclude that because of that, anything Sam says to any man is understandable, and so what she said in this instance was therefore absolutely not racist.

But will he be a martyr and do the honourable thing? That is what happens on the field stays there.

Knowing how we don't fake injuries and fouls like other teams to get penalties, its possible Spence will just keep Mum.

Spencer did it , pleaded guilty and will cop a stint on the sidelines. I don't believe he is a racist , I think more gamesmanship, but stupid none the less, given the extensive education around these topics players receive .

I have no issues with mam and how he feels, im guessing the majority of posters on here claiming mam is a cry baby are like myself , white , middle class and experienced little discrimination in their lives.

bottom line , I'm sure if Spencer had his time again he would re think his actions , and choose his words differently on field and post game .

he will learn from this and be better .

Every take you have on the situation ("he's in the corner being pummeled and is about to be knocked out") is, so completely wrong. Sorry, I reckon mattyh was spot on apart from the way Mam feels.

I got called a wog from kindergarden to year 12. Based on the way Mam has behaved, I would have come home and cried in my room every day after school. I copped it on the chin.

Mam is a grown man and needs to act like one. Leniu has tried to extend the olive branch. By refusing to accept it shows he needs to grow up a little.

I copped it too. From K to Y12. I gave it back to them (not abuse), but stood up for myself and didn’t let them see me cry once. Beneath it all and then when I got home i felt like absolute crap. Could never tell the parents as I didn’t want to upset them. It has scarred me for life in that I loath any sort of racism or bullying because of difference.
