Wayne Bennett may be a Queenslander but he's also a very smart man and coach . He's also a very decent human being . A family member of mine, from the Knights team, was going through a rough patch many years ago and got a call from Wayne Bennett . He was coaching the Broncos at the time. He gave him some very good advice and clear perspective . It was a nice show of humanity and completely out of the blue .

Positives: Whyte gets a few NRL games under his belt that he otherwise wouldn't have. I think he will aim up.

Spencer Leniu will still face the judiciary, even though he pleaded guilty. His lawyer will try to argue for a lesser suspension vs the NRL lawyer, who will be arguing for the maximum suspension. I am not sure what his judiciary record is like or what character references his lawyer may provide the judiciary.

Maybe Nick gets on the phone with his Bronco counterparts to ask Mam to drop the case and donate money to a charity of Mam's choice instead?

Marcelo Montoya was suspended for 4 matches for a homophobic slur so not sure if Leniu will cop the same or more - I would say between 4 to 12 weeks and a $20,000 fine as a minimum

Other cases were players were charged and pled guilty in Racial slur cases

• Bryan Fletcher was suspended for 1 game and fined $10,000 in 2005 and was also required to help Dean Widders with his work in the Aboriginal community
• Paul Gallon was fined $10,000 in 2009.
