That we no longer have that pedestrian Drew Hutchison playing for us anymore. He was woeful and uninspiring tonight for the dogs.
We definitely dodged a bullet with letting him go.
Spot on, yet there would still be people on here creaming themselves if he was playing for Easts. In their last match of the trials, 2 Fox commentators agreed that he was useless.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
Gave his all for us Drew. I watched that game today, and the Bulldogs are very, very average, still, but Drew was far from their worst. To say he was woeful, not true. With all the big money the Dogs have spent on Kikau, Burton, Addo Carr, Mahoney, Crighton, one of their starting props today was Poasa Faamausili..

I never said he was their worst, I was just pointing out that he was woeful.
how lucky we are too have nick and robbo , no salary cap bent out of shape. the promotion of youth year in year out , the moving on / retirement of senior pros .

I think we have upgraded our personnel this season, which was needed, but IMHO it is "woeful and uninspiring" to trash a guy that is
no longer a Rooster and who played with heart while he was here.

To be fair, he was trashed when he was a Rooster as well.

I agree. Nobody could ever question his efforts and commitment to our club.
Hutch had/has an impressive CV and Robbo/recruitment don't often buy poorly. They look for solid past performers who are team players, without egos and who don't cost the Earth. With few exceptions those guys do what is required of them and sometimes they appear to be recapturing the promise they once showed. I thought Corey Allen, after a shaky start, looked confident and very capable. He was a standout in that last minute loss to Melbourne in the Finals last year. I always thought Hutch to be the reliable journeyman that he was/is as well as being a fine human and role model. Role models are also what Robbo factors in. Whether they kick on after being in the Rooster system is moot for a number of reasons but one thing for sure, I bet that they don't choose to leave.
