No bullshit I got a phone call from Steve Noyce this afternoon in reply to an email I sent him after the Warriors game in regards to Anasta.

Let me say this, Anasta will be captain & 5/8 for the rest of this year unless injured. The guy is held in the HIGHEST regards by all of the Roosters coaches & staff. That is from Noyce's mouth.

He said that Braith admits himself that his involvement has been quiet & that he was working on it. He reminded me of how much Anasta does off the field in regards to club duties & sponsor duties. He said since I have never played FG that it would be difficult for me to understand how hard FG is.

He also mentioned that the club had a very young roster & it was vital to the team for Anasta to be the captain.

I applaud you for your efforts but its just the same pile of Sh*t they feed us every time. "We're a young team" , "we look good on the horizon" , "we need anasta as captain". All weak ploys which are used to hide from even the smallest of shadows. There are many young teams in the comp who are aiming up big time.

I really think we are about to get a massive reality check on the weekend. The performances we have put on this year IMO have had many flaws which top sides don't have. If Pearce comes back from origin feeling crappy about how he went, then we can kiss this season goodbye, if we haven't already.

Right now we're 11th but IMO we'll be lucky this season to finish anywhere above 10th at best.

Funny you say that, I remember Aubo's debut at 5/8th against the vermin in 07. We got slaughtered that night.

I think he is a massive part of our squad and has improved every time he plays to become the solid player he is. Good determined footballer, exactly what we need as captain.

No you are probably right mate, it's just the way things fell I took it that way.

Besides Noyce wouldn't believe a lot of what he said, from what people have said he didn't want to re-sign Bwaiff last time, but he has to follow protocol that's his job. Just a messenger.

As much as Anasta is killing us, I dont think we need another media beat up over this issue derailing a team that clearly teams are under estimating.

I like him as a player but he doesn't seem to be cemented in any position.

I don't get the Noyce hate some have, the bloke seems genuine enough and seems prepared to do his job, even going over an above answering fans questions.

Imagine the heat we'd draw if we dropped Bwaiff. Rothwitt and co would dine out on it all season. And as you said we'd lose that surprise factor. At the moment no one expects much and I think we can cause some headaches on the run home.
