  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Manly

    It’s been a long wait….

Going to be a beauty at Brookvale Oval today. Two teams coming off great wins in Vegas who will both want to keep the high going. Can’t wait to get there.

Welcome back to Jarred. Great to have him leading the pack again.

We’ll have the tallest three-quarter line in the history of the game and with Young we now have genuine speed.

I’m confident if we defend well we can win by plenty. Will just be happy to get the 2 points.

    Who’s excited!?

    GO ROOSTERS!

        Simple today
        continue the momentum
forwards direct running, if we can play with minimal errors and penalties again our backs should score plenty of tries
the cross field kick could collect 3/4 today
        contain turbo running

Looks like it may be wet. Will slow the game down a lot.

Reserve grade kicking off at 145pm. Angus and Egan listed as starting second rowers. Jennings and Alex Young also playing.

This is a worry. Not the ideal ground for knees and ankles.

Up to 35mm of rain predicted for today in Brookvale. That’s somewhat of a leveller I think. It will be a bit of a tussle. I’m still optimistic we’ll be too strong.

Still some single seats available in the Grandstands with price between $85 to $99.

Would have loved to see this game on a dry fast track. The drink on the surface will keep the scores closer. We tend to play the same 'chance the arm' footy whether its wet or dry, that can go either way.

An aspect of our Vegas dig that didn't get the credit it deserved was our kicking game. Young Sam had a little more oomph off the boot. Cheese nailed a 40/20. Kez had two 40/20s in the zone that were just picked off. He was inch perfect with the short drop outs too incl a variation straight dink that Teddy nailed. The boys had obviously put some work in on this important part of the game. Different conditions and pill today in the open air, lets hope we can adapt. We will obviously target the corners with high kicks.

No coverage of the NSW Cup game today?

I’m never confident in our game when it’s a wet track, hopefully today proves otherwise..

I would rather play Turbo in the wet than the dry
