  • That was on the halves

Failed to control the game. Play in and for moments.

Keary a shadow of himself and Walker not knowing if he is coming or going.

Big tip boys, start listening to one of the best halfbacks in the last few decades who is on your coaching staff and would be shaking his head watching the both of you out there trying to score off every single tackle - low percentage play after low percentage play.

We were completely dominated all over the park and on the back foot all game Not sure the halves are entirely to blame for that

Agreed, it will be interesting to see what we get out of a Sandon Smith / Sam Walker next week as I assume Keary will miss with HIA protocols.

But absolutely no organisation, we try to create a linebreak on every play. Keary played more like a rookie than a 250 game veteran today, throwing stupid passes in his own half after being camped on our goal line all game.

We need to become content with not scoring on every single set and instead turning the ball over in difficult positions for the opposition. We just didn’t do that at all today.

            Keary and Walker both 0/10.

            The team bumbling bumbling fools.

Am I right that B Smith only got 12 minutes in the second half ? I thought he was a marquee signing.

Yep the forwards were terrible. N Whyte looked good - but didn't finish the game.

For all his apparent 'X' factor, Sitili cannot defend for shit and left Kez open too often. Just play Nat on the edge against teams with massive backrowers.

Young cannot defend, or understand the simple concept of staying on his winger.

Agreed. The score (including that random as hell Young try) made us look better than we were.

No excuses for that one. Ref was shyte but they're all shyte (and it went both ways) so nothing in that either.

Sigh! Our first dose or reality for 2024...

No, can't agree with that assessment. He engineered our first two tries, did overplay his hand a couple of times as I think he was trying too hard with Sammy staying out of the attack. Organised the dee on his side well under a lot of pressure. All the points came on our right side. Most of our tries involve Luke, we could struggle for points if he has a week off. Fingers crossed he'll be fine.

Yeah I dunno what more Keary can do when one of Manly's strongest forwards is constantly getting 1-on-1 runs where he simply gallops through Keary.

Lotsa lessons to be learned there, including that Manly could be the real deal in 2024.

Lol. Our two halves did make a (w)hole though.

Very disappointing club debut for Young on a number of fronts. Looked lost in defence, didn’t carry well in yardage and seemed to out of breath and missed his assignment off a number of occasions.

Hopefully just gets better with some more match conditioning.

It was like Keary and Walker had never met.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

The second Manly try was quite literally the result of one of Keary’s stupid passes, just because it was scored on the right doesn’t absolve him of blame.

It’s a bit tough to blame the halves when we failed to dominate possession. We spent most of the game on the back foot defending our line. I thought Keary had a mixed game but we are going to need him against the vermin so I hope he’ll be alright.
