Good team on paper but so did last week’s team look. In all fairness to Manly, I thought they were the better side on the day. Brooks was only centremeters away from scoring and Olakau'atu’s no try (if he was a Roosters player I would have been screaming) was very fortunate for us but ultimately made no difference. Honestly, I thought we looked fatigued early doors - not sure why?.


Regardless, on to this week.


Positives :


Sandon Smith at 6 has to be given a go at some point and from the little I’ve seen he seems he will offer plenty. Also, this keeps Manu at centre (hopefully it stays that way and there are no late changes - won’t hold my breath).


JWH - 300 games.


Watson on the bench. And the players on it.


Crichton - just bring your reserves form and you may be a handful.


Negatives:


Ashley Klein - seriously, how many games has he been the ref when the Roosters have played Souths? I’m fearing the worst (make that the usual) Friday night.


Latrell Mitchell - he would have been given a massive confidence boost by Andrew Abdo after their heart to heart conversation that he can say/do anything he likes and there won’t be any ramifications regardless of his judiciary/swearing comments etc. Chances are (about 250/1 on) he will even be able to call Pasifika Islanders “Coconuts” and will most likely get given a few weeks in lieu. But heaven forbid - do not say “f**k up you monkey”.


Ashley Klein.


Jack Wighton - big in for them.


Lachlan Ilias - out (bonus for them?) Maybe, but Hawkins is an unknown but so is Sandon Smith to a point.

Luke Keary - out. Usually goes well against his old side and is proven in big games.


Siua Wong - omitted? That was a bit of a surprise there.

Billy smith will push suaali and co this week in the back, and seems jenko may as well!
s smith and Watson will be pushing to stay in the 17 with the 14 jersey
while Wong and Egan butch will now push again to get in or get back in the 17
so if players don’t perform this week watch out
Wong a little unlucky but Gus had a massive game in res grade!

Wighton will test joeys defence but he is not a strong defender at centre either so expect some traffic down that side
south’s will be dangerous loosing 2 straight
Make latrel run around, keep their left side quite putting pressure on walker and win the forward battle will be key
