  • Future Captain

Off topic, just want throw this out there with the amount of turnover of players particularly the core of our back to back champion teams, the age of most of our senior players, who leads this team 2025 and beyond if James doesn’t play on I believe he will be 33.
Victor Radley- Pros- leads by example with on field actions.
    Puts the team first
Robbo has a great relationship with him.
Can inspire with a run or a hit in defence.

    Cons- Bad rep with Refs
Lacks that maturity of a true leader
Ability to articulate and engage professionally with media has that stupid boy mentality at times.

Nat Butcher- Very similar to Rads in the first few points but lacks that ability to inspire others around him for the most part a clean skin record, talks well he’s a calming influence which in recent seasons has been our Achilles heel with losing our heads particularly against Souffs.

I can’t see anyone else by that time to be viable options apart from maybe Lindsay Collins.

Sam Walker is still a kid maybe in 5 years time.

Lindsay Collins is no dill and, you'd have to think, is widely respected.

Robbo commentated a few years back about just how good Victors footy brain is. A real prospect as captain. give it to Boyd hes on the field enough

It has to be Radley, local junior, will be a Rooster for life and is now an 80 minute player.

Collins is a leader and is well spoken too but I do think the captain needs to be on the field for 80 minutes.

In a recent outing I attended with all the players, Radley was the standout leader hands down. I hope he gets the gig.

It’s will be either Radley, Butcher or Collins. Most likely Collins.

Has to be Rads if not then when we buy Latrell back he could be captain.

I favour Radley, but Collins has plenty of positives except that he’s not on the field all the time, so I’d go dual captains with those two.

Tedesco only just turned 31, it would not surprise me if he's still playing into his mid 30's.

Very happy to see the form hes started the season in, he's been great.

Both these guys have the ability to (and regularly do) inspire through their actions and have pretty good footy nous. I’d favour the 2024 version of Radley for the same reason. If we were talking about the pre-2023 Radley, forget about it.

The team will evolve a fair bit and our youngsters will mature between now and when Teddy calls it a day at the end of 2025. Someone else might emerge as a good choice, possibly even an astute purchase.

His form has been the best it’s been in a few years I reckon. Looks super fit and very relaxed.

Give it to Spencer in a few years. Very upfront and direct. Doesn’t mince words. Well spoken. Calls it as he sees it. .
