For me, if not Teddy, there are only 3 options:
1/ Nat Butcher - best choice. Articulate, calm, hard worker, smart, clean skin. On the field for 80 (or can be). Although not as talented, the closest to Cords we have in the current squad.
2/ Collins - tough, leads by example, smart, mature. Not being on field for 80 is an issue. Perhaps co-captain with someone who is
3/ Keary - tough, smart, strong willed and principled. A natural I believe, after how he supported his teammates against that arrogant sloth Crowe. Issue is longevity. Can we afford a captain who may be regularly out with HIA issues.
Beyond that, its daylight. Some others the have been mentioned:
Radley - may have improved, but to my mind does not have the right temprament to be captain. Being a chooks junior is not relevant when you cant control your emotions on field
Crichton - moving on
Walker - no. Needs to get his game right. Needs perhaps 3-4 years before coming into the frame for that kind of job

Luke Ricketson was the last local junior to captain the Roosters and he retired in 2005 - hasn't been that many over the years
Not sure if the following list is up to date though
