  • Lindsay Collins Contract Extension

    ROOSTERS’ RECRUITMENT COUP

The Roosters are preparing to lock in Lindsay Collins to the longest deal at the club despite the prop still being contracted until the end of 2026.

It is understood that Collins and the Roosters are locked in talks for the Kangaroos and Maroons star to remain at the club until at least the end of 2028.

Collins current contract was a four year deal signed in 2021. Since then he has gone on to become a mainstay for the Maroons and Kangaroos and one of the game’s best props. Collins would be 32 by the time the new deal expires. The Roosters do not have anyone contracted beyond 2027 when the deals of Sitili Tupouniua, Dom Young, Billy Smith, Victor Radley and Nat Butcher’s all end.

Collins has become the Roosters’ forward leader and has been earmarked as the man to lead the middle of the field following Jared Waerea-Hargreaves’ decision to join the Super League at the end of this year after a decorated career.

Collins and Spencer Leniu will take up that starting prop role with Leniu in the first year of a three year deal.

The Roosters are also hopeful that a two-year extension will be done with fellow prop Terrell May.

    Great news!

Spence, May and Collins are 3 of the best.

Great news means Collins stays for life. Carry us into the future torch has been passed from JWH to Lindsay.

Good news. Collins has developed beautifully since his first season at Easts.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

            Future captain material for sure.

Also, he doesn't seem to rub the refs the wrong way like JWH. Dunno what JWH did to hurt them but I think he's been used as 'the example' for a stack of crackdowns to the point where his name's just gone to shyte with refs.

This is great news. Remember the days when Lindsay was a whipping boy on here and everyone complained about his flipper hands? He's now set to take over from Jared as our premier prop.

Add Whyte to this and we have a great front row rotation

He’s thoroughly earned it. Consistently one of our best win or lose. Mr 110%.

I always advocated for Lindsay happy to say, he's big, and oh so bad. And geez I used to cop it from some on here...incl. that fella who used to do the team lists, nowadays obsessed with injuries and suspensions.

They used to complain about Jarred in 2011 and 2012 as well he didn't win people over until 2013 front rowers need time to develop it's the toughest position to play and the one where people don't appreciate the work that they do

His growth in the last 3-4yrs has been incredible. The potential was pretty clear early on but he was constantly prone to silly and infuriating errors.

Other than Teddy, now you could argue he is the most consistent Rooster running out each week.

Great story of club development and personal commitment.

I don’t remember that Jack and I’m struggling to think of who you’re referring to, but well done sticking by the big fella. Like SKS said, props take a while to develop and reach their prime.
