  • Jack Wighton

I seem to recall Sualii being placed under the microscope for his dangerous running style. Did he cop a suspension as well?

So why is it ok for Wighton to lift his knees into Sam Walker as he was coming in to tackle him? Wighton then chopped down on him with an elbow to the back of the neck which might ridiculously result in Walker having to miss the game next week.

Then we saw Fatrell stomp on Tedesco, then knee him in the head. Thankfully no histrionics from Teddy, but typically KKKlown and the bunker were more interested in the push and shove.

Tedesco should have had 3 tries last night and Wighton and Fatrell should be on the sideline for a week or more
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

If I was Wighton, i'de be seriously p sssed off at the lack of effort from some of his team mates. Wighton ran hard all night meanwhile Latrell barely broke a sweat. Not once did he sprint to defuse any threat and was caught out ball watching on countless occasions. His positional play as the last man was abysmal. That giant chip on his shoulder is making him look like nothing more than a park player.

Wighton is a grub. Grubs like hanging together. Will be good to see him and his new team implode over the coming weeks. Bulldogs will beat them as well.

As much as it pains me to say it, I hope they do.

They are missing Campbell Graham and have problems with the 7 role

Wighton left Canberra as he wanted to win a premiership. More chance if he stayed where he was me thinks

I'm sure he'll cop a warning for the knee, I think the elbow was fine he's just got his bumpers up which is allowed. Jack Wighton just wouldn't be a very fun player to tackle, he's all lean muscle mass and an awkward running style.

Just need to stop the stupid argument that lowering your defensive target range will reduce head knocks. The defensive player is at so much risk of catching and elbow, knee or hip every time they go low first man in.

Yeah he's a grub but didn't he run for 180m or something?

Still think it's weird he's being used as a 'centre'. Glad I'm not a Souffs fan as I reckon they're a rabble. Even more-so than usual.

To be fair, he hasn’t looked anywhere near professional since he left us.

100% and Raiders fans down here are laughing at him! His ex team mates are hanging to give it him when they next meet as well!

Watched the Wighton elbow on Walker again, he's straight out lead with a single cocked elbow, and clocked him, nothing to do with "bumpers". Must be cited and must be suspended. He's caused a concussion by leading with his elbow. He could have done untold damage if Sam hadn't turned his head. If they're trying to reduce concussions, he must be suspended. Or does he not get cited or suspended because he's indigenous? If he doesn't, that can be the only reason why.

By the end of the season I reckon Wighton will be playing 6 with Cody Wanker at 7. Just my opinion but I think this was always the plan from souffs. Sign him for less by claiming he is no longer playing rep and will play centre, then move him back into the halves. Its in motion now with Illas being dropped.

Did you used to start threads like this when Latrell was playing for us & doing the same thing?
Did you hear anyone from the Roosters complaining?
It’s first grade Rugby League, it’s a rough, dirty game & all teams get rough & dirty with the opposition.
If you think our players like JWH, Rads, Cheese & past players like Luke O’Donnell, Morley & Mick Crocker didn’t do that kind of stuff then you are kidding yourself.
We don’t want the game to be all nice & friendly we want the game to have players playing it that want to hurt each other if you don’t like that then there is always the ballet.

I'm pointing out the hypocrisy and certain teams/players who are not held to the same standard.

You actually helped me though. By pointing out JWH, Radley, Morley and Crocker, you added to the list the number of Rooster players kept under close scrutiny by the NRL. If that same standard is applied, Wighton should be spending at least a week on the sideline.

But we know it will never happen.
