I agree beating Penrith with Cleary playing would be a real achievement.
It certainly evens things up for our match on Thursday night.
    Go the Chookies.

Cleary is now bordering on being the best player of the last 20 years. Glad he's out.

Roosters are now $1.70 favourites according to Sportsbet.

He pretty much has every single aspect of the game covered doesn't he.

I would rather Cleary played, so hopefully the Roosters won't be complacent now that he is out.

Roosters have or will have a few out themselves

Spencer Leniu- Suspended - 6 matches still to serve
Lindsay Collins- Grade 1 Hamstring - 1 to 2 weeks
Sandon Smith -Hyperextended Elbow - 2 to 8 weeks if surgery not required.
Plus Billy Smith unavailable for selection

No excuses not to beat them if this is correct. Cleary is the Pamfers.

Also for the Panthers Scott Sorensen is expected to miss around 4 weeks with a knee injury.

I’m never glad when the oppositions best player or players are out.
For all the years I’ve followed the Chooks the part that I’ve enjoyed the most is 2018 in the semifinals & Grand final when we beat a top Cronulla tough team a top Souths tough team & a top Melbourne tough team that were all at full strength.
Those 3 clubs that year all had dirty grubby tough players & the mighty Chooks were able to be dirtier, grubbier & tougher & get over the 3 of them.
                What a year that was.

                  This is very helpful.

They were still pretty good when he was out last season. Definitely still our toughest game so far.

Just rubbish luck that Collins and Leniu are both out.

Be interesting to see how we go with just JWH, May and Whyte (do we have any other front rowers?) Fark it's a joke that Leniu's suspended for so long!!!

It cleary helps us. But we will still face the most fast moving attack and defence that smothers teams. Just won't have the conductor of the orchestra there. We will need to take our game to another level, but we definitely have it in us.

Fisher-Harris is deemed a “week-to-week” proposition after picking up a shoulder injury in round two against Parramatta but the prop is unlikely to be available this week after the club granted him permission to travel back to New Zealand on compassionate grounds.

wowee game on...I hope we win but not a given .

if we play penriff in the gf I'd prefer cleary play and the chooks win .

I still think penrith should be favs, we hate grind footy and penriff do it well . but can only play whats in front of you .

                            go chooks.

Also, according to NRL tonight, Alex Johnston needs new teeth.

That would surely make it hard for him to pass himself off for a Rabbitoh wouldn't it?
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
