Stats alone don't measure how an individual player makes those around him look good, or how they nullify the strengths of the opposition. I usually give a 3-2-1 just of our team after games and they aren't always the leaders on the stats sheet. The eye don't lie.

could anyone be bothered doing a 3,2,1s thread after our games? It would be interesting to see the variation of choices and how differently people see the game.

My point is that if you are the only superstar in a crap team you are more likely to stand out and therefore the judges will award you more points. Case in point, Ben Hunt last season was right up there even though the dragons were struggling.
Compared to a situation where a team has multiple great players who are all involved in the victory, it becomes unlikely that everyone will receive points even if they had blinders. For example Joey Manu round 1 against the Broncos, he didn't receive a point.

Caveats...

- Most shyte teams have one good player so they can't all win it.

- The shyte team's gotta fluke their way into the finals because you've gotta win enough games to be a contender.

- 99.99% of recipients are either halves or fullbacks.
