You won't beat Penrith unless you have more than 50% possession and 80% plus set completions - currently Roosters 42% to Penrith's 58% possession- Roosters 75% set completions and Penrith surprisingly 78% which is low for themLast edited by King Salvo; 03-28-2024, 09:42 PM.

Absolute mental block against the riff we’re not winning anything so long as this Penrith team keep on keeping they could be man down all game and still slap us.
Soul destroying watching this juggernaut easily account for us minus their general Cleary if he plays we lose by 50, cannot compete how do they keep this up year after year?

I thought this game would be a 50/50 game with Cleary out but this is worse then I expected, Penrith just find replacements when required who could slot into first grade at any other club.

The formula to Riff success is to remove all joy and individuality out of the game and hold onto the ball, roll down the field by trying to get up as quick as possible and milking penalties. Grind the opposition to dust by making them play on every tackle, then set up a shape and execute with perfect precision with every player knowing their role and not causing any obstruction.
We don't play like that and have never played like that. We don't play straight enough. We continue to try and win with ill advised 2nd phase play, lack of respect for ball handling and low percentage. We used to be able to defend our errors better, now we can't due to the 6 again rule.
Add in the fact kicking from our own end is non existent and you will be better every single time.Last edited by HunchoRooster; 03-28-2024, 09:54 PM.
