I think a lot on here are pretending this was close, yes final score was 6 but our weaknesses, fallibility were exposed by a panthers team possibly more weakened then us.

sorry but I think the hope I had of winning the comp may have been extinguished tonight, they play quicker , look stronger.

The formula to Riff success is to remove all joy and individuality out of the game and hold onto the ball, roll down the field by trying to get up as quick as possible and milking penalties. Grind the opposition to dust by making them play on every tackle, then set up a shape and execute with perfect precision with every player knowing their role and not causing any obstruction.

We don't play like that and have never played like that. We don't play straight enough. We continue to try and win with ill advised 2nd phase play, lack of respect for ball handling and low percentage. We used to be able to defend our errors better, now we can't due to the 6 again rule.

Add in the fact kicking from our own end is non existent and you will be better every single time.

I did notice a lot of weirdness/trickery. Examples...

- Edwards intentionally picking Keary up using his shoulder then pretending he'd obstructed his play the ball.

- Eizenhuth lying down to milk a penalty and then demanding an HIA so they could get a free interchange for Martin.

- That weird challenge where To'o head-butted the ball after knocking on. Again... I'd say that was a tactic (I didn't personally see Young touch it but whatevz).

Not saying this decided the outcome but they're farking annoying to watch.

It was close because we held them out during the 2nd half when they had 60% of possession and every right to put us to the sword.

Penrith played without fear and played footy.
for the first half we looked way too pre programmed and robotic.

The bunker really broke our back with that dreadful call.
Cleary is a masterful coach.

Yes we were robbed with that no try call.

But to be fair they were the better side tonight and had the game in the bag all night,score flattered us in the end!

think we will be top 4, but tonight showed how important Collins is, need to beat dogs and knights before taking on the storm though.

Keary should have done exactly what Edwards did, but he tried to get around him instead of running into him.

After watching the manly Parra game last week, the Manu try was never going to be awarded.

Cleary’s been given a generational pipeline of talent from the largest and most well funded nursery in the game.

Before his second stint at Penrith he was 9 losses, 3 wins against Robinson, he had a 50% win rate at the Warriors, a 40% win rate at the Panthers (first stint) and a 40% win rate at the Tigers.

What changed? Lets not pretend he turned into some super coach overnight.

Both are very elite coaches of the game, but Politis isn’t dumb.
