3 premierships in 7yrs = excellence
After the end of 2019 to now you can tell he's not the same coach. Other coaches have passed him & he hasn't adapted to the new rules nowhere near as other coaches have.
Its early in a new season but it already kind of feels we will be hot/cold week in week out IMO.
Nothing but two solid performances & wins next 2 weeks v Dogs & Knights will change my view that unfortunately IMO we wont win another premiership under Robbo.
Don't hate him, (will always love his 1st 7yrs)) but i believe everything has an expiry date.
Fresh blood & idea's are inevitable for progression.

Yes Maverick Geyer just debuted and Liam Henry has only just reached double digits for first grade games yet you’ve already said “they would go absolutely no where at another club”… that’s foolish talk.
SG Ball - 7th
Tarsha Gale Cup - 10th
Harold Matthews Cup - 8th
Lisa Fioala Cup - 9th

It's Game 4 of a 24 game regular season
We've got issues if we cant achieve good standards & levels regularly & are a work in progress.
Panthers & Storm do this year in year out.

What I don’t get with Robbo’s style is there is no variation when we are the pump in our 30m zone. It’s an easy read for teams. Pin us down a la Manly and Riff game 3 backs take the first few hit up no real yardage then another weak kick and before we know it it’s back to where we were yet again. The tactic of the backs bringing the ball out is had its use by date.

2019 The Cleary father and son combo have just lost 6 straight. Nathan is young, raw with zero confident. It looked like Ian couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag.
There own fans are booing them off the ground and calling for Nathan to be booted back to reserve grade.
Every team goes through tough times especially with a young half still trying to find their feet.
We will be ok.

Cleary absolutely owns Robbo … that’s 10 in a row … and can even roll out a team loaded with reserve graders and still beat us on our home turf … embarrassing really
People want to know why Penrith are so good? they are superbly coached … always play smart and at 100% no matter who is in their lineup … much like Melbourne
We on the other hand have a soft boiled egg as a coach … all the stars (and we always have plenty of those) have to align for us to do anything of note
I will give Robbo some credit … he is a superb recruiter … but it’s all a ruse … as a football coach he is barely above average on a good day
Imagine if Cleary, Bellamy or Bennett had our team what we could achieve.

As for Bennett he has won nothing since 2010, when he had the Saints run from dummy half for 60 minutes a game with a team full of stars on back ended contracts. He left the Dragons in a salary cap mess, went to the Knights with Tinklers open cheque book, left them in a salary cap mess and won nothing, went back to the Broncos, made a grand final with a very strong squad and then did shit- got flicked and also left them in a salary cap mess.....then went to Souths and inherited a very strong squad that made 1 grand final. His success was a long long time ago with a Broncos team that was nearly the Qld team.
Bellamy had Smith,Slater,Cronk,Inglis,Falou over a long period- and it took a salary cap rort to keep them. He has never won a premiership with at least 1 of those players in the team. Everyone is waiting for their demise since 2020 but he has done a great job keeping that team competitive- but they were never going to win anything after Smith retired- and they won't win it this year.

In fact in his first 3 years as Penriths coach 2012-2015 he won 45% of games, got flicked to West Tigers where in 2 seasons he had a 42% winning percentage.....and finally was brought back to Penrith when his son was re-evaluating where his future was headed. Anthony Griffin was given the boot after guiding Penrith to 2 consecutive finals appearances- something Cleary couldn't do in the 3 years prior.....and then in 2019 with Cleary returning Penrith finish 10th. Ivan was then hit up the arse with a rainbow and inherits a once in a lifetime champion team. I'm not saying Cleary cant coach, but he had 13 years of nothing besides 1 grand final appearance before getting this team.

In a season you can’t win every game. I’m sure there were games we lost in 2019 that we could’ve and should’ve won.
i remember being so ecstatic buying my GF tickets in 2000 as it had been 25 years since our last time there. Under Robbo I’ve had lots to be happy about and while I’d have liked to win last week, the amount of dropped ball in contact wasn’t Robbos fault. We hold on to the ball we win that game.
