Just resurrect one of your multiple old threads. No need to post the same topic again and again. I think your posting needs to evolve, is poor, has become stale and totally predictable. You can’t just rest on your glory days of posts from 2023. For instance you could try posting after we’ve had a win, it may bring a different tone or perspective to your writing.

Year after year it’s the same problems , Same unforced errors, No direction on the field bad kicking in general play same old stuff… Doesn’t matter old players or new same old stuff….If it’s not a Coaching issue I have no idea.

2 points. They got them. We didn’t. They are only one win behind us.

penrith and Melbourne are the closest I've seen to machine like .

repeatable , process, grind rugby league.

penrith get the backs to run metres, forwards conserve energy for defence. kick well . tackle Welland hard. no mistakes.

nothing brilliant about it , simplicity but goddamn effective .

soulless, machine like rugby league . take the joy out of the game .

goddamn I wish the roosters played like that

At this stage both clubs would be better off burying the book of fueds and just getting back to playing normal games against each other. The rivalry has gone too far and doesn’t do either club any good.
              oddly enough I agree .

it would be so emotionally draining and then there is the inevitable deflation .

Agree we have the best roster than all teams , we are the envy of the league . So if we play controlled footy focusing on completions ,low risk plays and strong defence and not always trying to score off every play which leads to stupid errors we win 90% of the games . Guaranteed .

We are always playing outlandish footy , which looks great when it comes off , but it is high risk and generates too many errors leading to pressure which becomes to much to repel. Play within ourselves and we get this job done this year. But the Coach won’t be reading this which is unfortunate .

What is beyond stale is losing to the same ****ing team 10 times in a row … even when they roll out a ****ing load of reserve graders onto our ****ing home turf in ****ing prime time

                  Is that a better tone?

This team has been in a moribund state for the last 3 years despite being the most loaded in league … it is poorly coached … when that changes I will write you something flowery

Who cares whether it is a 9 or 10 whitewash? The fact is Penrith has been dominant over the last few years! None of the game plans by Robbo have turned the tide!

In the early days of the 2024 season, for instance, a number of people were saying Manly could win the competition or be in the top four—they have lost two in a row now.
They have an awful lot of average players … that’s what happens when you lose the likes of Campbell-Gillard … Kikau … Koroisau … Burton … Crichton … every single year … they were also missing their best player and field general the other night

Yet they still spank us once again on our home turf?

It’s pathetic and embarrassing and an indictment on our milquetoast coach

                      • Only Nick Politis can change the coach. He has already stated that while he is chairman Robbo will be coach. He also said that he will remain as chairman indefinitely. When he says something he means it-always.

So everyone can go ahead and have their say about Robbo, but if the thought of him staying on as coach for another decade is too much to accept, if the reality of the situation really weighs you down, then i would consider following another team and save yourself the angst of complaining about a situation that you have zero control over.

                        • I see both sides of the argument on this one. Robbo has certainly not evolved since the introduction of the 6 again. We have far too much fluctuation between our best and worst performance and many people are right. Some of the losses we've had in the last 2 years have been putrid and inexcusable for the powerhouse club we are. The losses to Dogs after they hadnt won a game, Saints on the buzzer last year, the Souffs hit job from a few years ago. Would never happen to Bellamy or Cleary (nowadays). The variation and element of 'what sort of side will show up today?' is always there. I think it's because Robbo likes to tinker with things, and also to play a certain way that invites variation into our game. The others don't do that.

Thats why I still find it a thrill to watch our side play under him when he gets it right... we can absolutely blitz teams. The 2018 GF 1st half was the end of the Storm grind style for a while. Penriff brought it back in 2020-2021. It's up to Robbo to find the tonic again. At the moment, he is failing dismally at it. What I liked to hear though was Robbo's self admission and criticism of himself where he put his hand up and said he wasn't making the right calls in 2022 and 2023. Thats a good attitude. He is a man of high character. Now though, he needs to back it up and show the change.

It is only Rd4. We wouldn't be guaranteed to win a comp if we beat Riff by 30 the other night so we shouldn't panic yet with a single digit loss where there were some awful calls against us. We have many many months to improve. I am willing to give Robbo and the squad time to prove that. We all should be as fans. I admit if I see another 6th or 7th place finish where we look like world beaters one week and then look like a park team who have met eachother in the car park before kick off I will think the external blowtorch will start to be applied to Robbo. Rightfully so. We've had our transitional years, now it's time for the action. The squad is there.

At the end of the day though , he lives and breathes the Roosters. He wants us to succeed. He is paid to find a way for us to succeed but isn't a mercenary. We are in safe hands, albeit very stubborn hands that may need some more self reflection.

Have you got any concerns on Brandon Smith, wanna know how Lewis is going, thoughts on Sandon, see how the Va'a brothers are going, want to know how our future players are performing in the junior and senior results or even call Ray an idiot.
You love the sound of your own voice ffs.

Robbo has Nick in his back pocket &b will remain the Roosters coach until he decides he wants to leave.
Ive said it for years Nick is in awe of Robbo.

In fact in his first 3 years as Penriths coach 2012-2015 he won 45% of games, got flicked to West Tigers where in 2 seasons he had a 42% winning percentage.....and finally was brought back to Penrith when his son was re-evaluating where his future was headed. Anthony Griffin was given the boot after guiding Penrith to 2 consecutive finals appearances- something Cleary couldn't do in the 3 years prior.....and then in 2019 with Cleary returning Penrith finish 10th. Ivan was then hit up the arse with a rainbow and inherits a once in a lifetime champion team. I'm not saying Cleary cant coach, but he had 13 years of nothing besides 1 grand final appearance before getting this team.

As for Bennett he has won nothing since 2010, when he had the Saints run from dummy half for 60 minutes a game with a team full of stars on back ended contracts. He left the Dragons in a salary cap mess, went to the Knights with Tinklers open cheque book, left them in a salary cap mess and won nothing, went back to the Broncos, made a grand final with a very strong squad and then did shit- got flicked and also left them in a salary cap mess.....then went to Souths and inherited a very strong squad that made 1 grand final. His success was a long long time ago with a Broncos team that was nearly the Qld team.

Bellamy had Smith,Slater,Cronk,Inglis,Falou over a long period- and it took a salary cap rort to keep them. He has never won a premiership with at least 1 of those players in the team. Everyone is waiting for their demise since 2020 but he has done a great job keeping that team competitive- but they were never going to win anything after Smith retired- and they won't win it this year.

Grass isn't always as green as it seems on the other side of the fence!!
Not talking about salary cap or how many years it took someone to win a premership.
What I said was imagine if Cleary, Bellamy or Bennett had our current team what we could achieve.

Bellamy gets average players and turns them into superstars. No one can deny that.
Bennett's team last year was put together with band-aids and rubber bands and managed to upset many teams including us. That is all on the coach.
Ivan Cleary doesn't get superstars given to him by Uncle Nick, Cleary coaches and develops players.
All 3 coaches seem to get the best out of their players. Does Robbo get the best out of his players?

Not sure how green the grass is, all I know is we have the best squad on paper and we buy all the best players and if either of those 3 was our coach we would be doing a lot better.
