Otherwise we do look heaps better in attack. I love Keary he's one my all time favourite players, but he is done. Or I should say, unless he can find a way to run straight again, he's done and he is ruining our attack.

I remember a good example of another great Roosters player who, when he lost the ability to run straight, you new it was over. Craig Wing. In his least season he started taking this weird step to the side as he'd get to the line, instead of putting his body on the line and staying straight. The step to the side made him just not a threat anymore.
Anyone who tells you that Kez doesn't straighten our attack enough, doesn't understand the game.

If you go through our tries and attacking threats over the years, a large percentage come off Kearys speed and engaging defenders opposite. His attraction is quick feet on the diagonal to split two defenders. Gives him the option of hitting a lead runner into a gap/or half gap. Or spreading wide to use an overlap. The third piece of the arsenal would be a left foot step if his opposite over reacts to his sprint, which he doesn't really use - granted. He can still show and go however straightening up.

So its nothing to do with getting older or being "done" as you put it, moreso a very deliberate tactic. Kez still has the quickness for that short sprint thats required, more than most of his opposites. The key to looking smooth with our plays though is dominating the forward and yardage battle first. If we are beaten to that punch, things won't flow freely.

Respectfully Jack, I couldn't disagree more. For the reasons stated.

There’s been nothing in the first 4 rounds that’s left me concerned about our attacking style or structure, to the contrary it’s been a refreshing change on last year.
Lol, stop! That’s not part of the narrative.

I admire the composure of the rest of you on here, and the willingness to "move on" after the shameful and ridiculous ban of Leniu for a third of the season for saying a bad word. Cowardly by the NRL to pander to the Lynch mob in the media who literally decided what the penalty should be - as that's what they gave them. Including Thurston virtue signalling after what he knows he did in Coffs Harbour. And Hynes, whose mother could well be behind bars if not for the forgiveness of the judicial system - she got someone killed , and can't stop stealing - but he had to prejudice any chance of a fair hearing for one coloured gentleman teasing another coloured gentleman.

Carpet bombing all the games with gambling adverts is obviously far less harmful than saying "monkey ". I'm glad the NRL are able to maintain the moral high ground in such a dignified and convincing manner.

Also telling how much patience and understanding Abdo expressed for Latrell, not even fining him, saying "we all make mistakes with things we say", but showed no understanding to Leniu.

Not since Pearce getting suspended for a harmless off field incident for 10 weeks, plus a 50K fine, have I seen a bigger miscarriage of justice.
Exactly. No Lindsay or Spencer were huge losses .Yes they didn’t have JFH, but our attack does not rely in JFH making metres.

If the Roosters get 50% plus of the ball and complete their sets at 80% plus, limit the errors and missed tackles, and improve their discipline, then they will improve their game in both attack and defence.

King in fairness you have been saying this for years. I 100% agree. I think a lot of the negativity on here since the Penrith loss is borne out of frustration in seeing no improvements in the areas you mention

I would love if they just adopted a power game through the forwards with Walker kicking into the corners and a rush defense.

When Lineu/Collins/JWH/May are on the park I believe we have the pack to achieve this

No one is suggesting he’s to be playing halves for us.

If you genuinely think we “nearly beat Penrith”, then I need to have whatever it is that you’re smoking. Our attack was never on until 9 minutes left when the game was dead and buried, against a side missing the best player in the competition. Just like our attack was never on in the Manly game - with the same halves. Just like our attack has never looked like a genuine top contender - with the same halves. It’ll be sooner rather than later that Robinson realises his job is on the line - and Sandon will be the half alongside Sammy if we’re to have any forward progression at all.
he might watch the chooks, but does not watch other games imo.

I think he made a comment last year that herbie Farnsworth or staggs was rubbish . they were amongst the best 2 centres in the comp in 2023 .

love him but hes really giving the coaching staff/fans a headache with his performances.
Keary needs Angus on the same edge , he's the only forward we have that resembles the line Cordner used to run that tied up defenders and gave Kez some room.

Nothing has really changed in my opinion. We are just too undisciplined in every facet of our game to go very far. Also we very badly need a long distance kicker as all we seem to be doing is struggling badly to take the ball out of our own half only for it to be returned again to the halfway and attacking our line again. We spent the majority of our game against Manly and Penrith in our own half. How do we fix this years old problem?

Keary needs to put self preservation aside or retire. Simples!

Sandon Smith is the key to unlocking Walker.

Smith is a direct weapon. Young and brainless who just wants to win. Kid will go to the line ad nauseam and play on with a broken dick.

He's the perfect foil for the Queensland Jedi.

                              Not old man Keary.

With three premierships under his belt, it's time for the 75kg legend to chuck it in.
