Rodwell is still eligible for SG Ball next year so I think it will be really telling as to whether the club promote him to Jersey Flegg after the SG Ball season concludes as to what they have planned for him next year.

Personally I’m still not convinced that either Sandon Smith or Sam Walker are genuine halfbacks, where as Rodwell has already shown he’s a more natural 7. I think that’s his way in.. and then you just never know what’s going to happen.

As you said there’s no crystal ball, I remember at one point we had RTS in first grade, Latrell Mitchell in SG Ball and then 2 years later we had signed James Tedesco. Rugby League works in funny ways but there never seems to be a lack of opportunities.

Friendly has the experience with the week off from his NRL days so SG Ball should be in good shape for week 2 of the Finals where they will play the winner of the Dogs and Eels game.
Hopefully some players are getting some game time playing Flegg or even for Glebe in the Sydney Shield.

why can’t we go for Burton for ‘26?
              He is overrated & not a 5/8.

Wait 2 more seasons for Burton , he will be very cheap. Hutch is the dominant half and Burton is the dormant half
