I don't think the Storm are eating Baked Beans. They're also considered to be one of the big clubs with a big budget for their footy department.

Considered by who Bates . No club in the the NRL spends as much on the off field day to day running off a football team .That’s a reality not a consideration. We are throwing a shitload at this and we keep getting the same result . I love Robbo but somethings gotta give . It’s not personal, it’s just business .

I'll preface that I really like Trent as a human being. I think he has done wonders for this club and his legacy will forever be felt.

That being said, he has been largely ineffective since the introduction of the 6 again rule. I think he sometimes convoluted the basics and makes things more complicated than they need to be.

What is incredibly frustrating that most of his press conferences end up being a Q&A about all things sport, culture and recent events, especially after getting outcoached by a dull clod like Cleary or after a bad loss. I like that he is articulate and well spoken but at the end of the day he needs to be a coach and he doesn't coach the team as well as he does ramble about other topics.

I think a director role or recruitment role at the club is better suited for him at this point and we need to go back to basics with a footy head coach to get the best out of this incredibly talented but frustrating squad.
