  • What a fightback

Almost pulled off what would have been the greatest comeback ever, with 12/11 men.

All the dumb fark haters will say we shouldn't have been that far behind.

They're a cold hearted bunch though. Don't let them drag down to their miserable level

    That was pretty farkin brave.

    Somewhat brave, mostly pathetic.

Didn't get the miracle so may have well have lost by 30. The weekend is still going to be depressing.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Two games in a row the comeback falls short. Focusing on the brave comeback that never was isn't the secret to winning the comp.

How many points do we get for being brave?

That was piss poor against the Bullduds.

Let's celebrate a comeback against them even with 12 then 11 men.

Looking for small victories like that is embarrassing.

End of the day thats 2 points we should of had if we turned up switched on.

Happy to celebrate it but IMO it just shows how shyte the Doggies are. Like respect to them for winning but they were soooo bad that they almost lost from 26-0 up against 11 men with our captain and halfback also out.

Um! We shoulda played like we did in the 2nd from the kick-off and put 60 on them. That's how bad they are and we can play even worse than that!!! It's scary how bad our worst footy is.

The First half was poor but many sides would have packed it in when behind 26-0 at Oranges - It does show they have mettle to make a comeback especially when down to 12 players which they were for 54 minutes of the match and 11 for the last 8.

It's not all doom and gloom - It's only round 5 - Roosters 2 and 3 the same as the Bronco's

As I alluded to on another post the Roosters needed to be good in the key areas - 47 % possession / 69% completion rate and 16 errors won't win you many games of footy in the modern game

                        Possession - Dogs 53% - Roosters 47%
                        Set Completions - Dogs 86% (32/37) - Roosters 69% (30/43)
                        Line Breaks - Dogs 6 - Roosters 4
                        Errors - Dogs 7 - Roosters 16
                        Penalties Conceded - Dogs 6 - Roosters 5
                        Set Restarts Conceded - Dogs 7 - Roosters 1
                        Missed Tackles - Dogs 38 - Roosters 34

100% agree with Coach Robinson on Dom Young's one - not a swinging arm and clenched fist type of tackle - Ball and all Tackle - sin bin at best and not a send off.

                        https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/04/05/young-sent-off/

Radley's one another poor call from the Bunker as if this is another new definition of a hip drop then teams are going to have to get used to playing with 12 or less players for 10 minute periods.

Watson had hold of the Dogs players ankle/leg - Radley lets go of the Dogs player and no way this could be deemed a hip drop tackle

                        https://www.nrl.com/news/2024/04/05/...nt-to-the-bin/

As Coach Robinson said if this is now the standard then more players will be sent off and sin binned.

NRL seems to move the goal posts in particular games to enforce some new interpretation they have conjured up which then isn't applied the same way in other games during that round.

There are no positives out of that. We put ourselves into a position where we needed a miracle victory. The ambush was coming after the emotion of the 2004 GF anniversary. We should have been on our toes. Reliably we were not.

I get it mate but the Dogs aren’t the Riff, or Melb or Brisbane. We came ‘close’ to beating a seller dweller side.

Yay for us. We almost got 2 points!

Two weeks in a row now we’ve been out enthused from the kick off by the opposition..

Against South’s we came out hungry and in control from the kick off, that has disappeared over the last couple of weeks..

To me,that is on the Coach!
