I love Robbo as a man and what he stands for but the Suaalii selection this year points to a wider point that Robbo is not quick enough to identify his mistakes.

Last year he played Suaalii at centre, did not work moved him to the wing, crushed it.

This year selections in the backline where tough before Rd 1, we had injuries but instead of picking Pauga or Jennings at centre he went with the “easier” option of Suaalii at centre. Unless he brained it during the summer why did Robbo go back to something that failed last season.

Surprise surprise Suaalii has been terrible this season at center.
He was too slow in identifying the Manu experiment at 5/8th last year as not working.

Robbo’s backing of his players is a positive and and negative, great coaches have that midis touch and the last few years Robbo has lost this

Lol....no haven't used the sack word anywhere.

Just want more accountability & a bigger spotlight on our slow decline under his coaching the last few years.

Just want to equal out the warm fuzzy Robbo blinkers people have on with a critical view as the buck stops with him obviously.

Our decline hasn't just happened overnight.

I thought everyone was praising Suaalii at centre after the first 3 rounds.

Was Suaalii first pick centre for Vegas? I thought Billy was. Once injured who would you have put there before hindsight of our last game kicked in?

Jennings who hadn't played a game since 2020?

          FFS

Some were but certainly not everyone
i dont rate him at all and $750k most guys on that much can fill spots but Suaali is horrible at centre
after 1-2 games people were praising him but all he did was his job nothing spectacular
he is a liability in defence and offers nothing in attack
Jennings would be way better then Suaali at left centre
even a backrower would do a better job

Yes we should be doing better and losing to the dogs is not ideal but we are worlds away from the mess they are in. Get a grip.
One thing for certain, it was the right call on Trell. Now he's their coaching problem and probably the team's as well. Seems like disharmony is rife as Burgess foresaw.

Robbo would have to collect the spoon this year and then lose the first 10 games of next year to get his marching orders!

Nick (the godfather) Politis should make Ivan Cleary and Nathen an offer they can't refuse.

Robbo just needs to evolve to the modern game & find ways to beat teams like Panthers, Storm..etc with the team he currently has.

Ohhh yeah, chuck Bulldogs into that mix to.

                    Even Souths beat them FFS.

Constantly losing to teams we should beat because of players not showing up with the right mindset.. I can cop a bad game here or there or losing to a better team on the day but Robbo’s job is to make sure the players are ready to play ,bad attitudes, picking players out of position , players with poor skill sets are all on him. He is the coach and the buck stops with him, Especially since he has been the coach for over a decade and this is the team he built.

I don't think Robbo is here is as long as he wants to be as the majority say, if his record starts to resemble Demetriou and we are a bottom 4 team I think Nick will tap him on the shoulder.
Robbo will still get us into the top 8 this year and if we do miss out which I don't expect we won't finish lower than 10th.

He is one of the better coaches in the NRL, if we had to replace him who do you bring in.
Bennett would be short term and when he leaves a club they all seem to fall into a hole, we don't want that here.
Bellarmy has been at Melbourne forever and can't see him going elsewhere to start again plus he is winding down to retire.
Hasler from 10 years ago maybe but he has lost his way, can't see him lasting at the Titans
Cleary won't leave Penrith, they would pay him whatever he wants if he gets a serious offer elsewhere.

He was shown the door quickly. Cant work out why Nick is not being as clinical with this coach who has been very disappointing the last 4 years??????? Maybe we have now become an over politically correct Club who accept mediocracy and that it is OK not to win.
He was shown the door because the playing group had had enough of his intensity. They were a fair bit worse than they are now.

Imagine getting Ivan and Nathan. Sadly, the idiot makes perfect sense.

Horse head please Nick. Sooner rather than later

There is a big difference between Souffs and us at the moment. I think the main issue over there is the coach is merely a figurehead for the club who has little to no control of the side and has to acquiesce to everything Cody, Latrell and co. want. The change of coach won't do a thing for them, at least not long term. Their culture sucks.

Alternatively, we are at the opposite end. Our culture is rock solid. Nobody is bigger than the club and everybody has bought in to Robbo's mantras and ways. Unfortunately it appears Robbo doesn't know his best team, has lost his midas touch when it comes to rectifying mistakes and has let the game pass him by. He appears to have lost his hunger and is content with us playing Roosters footy and winning pretty some weeks and losing others like a holding pattern until he finds it out again. I personally would be moving him upstairs into a director role and getting someone with more desire to run the side and train every week. Wouldn't want to lose Robbo to another side and he should be at the club in some capacity , but if it doesnt change, it shouldn't be as coach.
