  • Coach media interview today

Somehow. I don't know how, but even though he's the most winning-est coach in Roosters history, and has delivered 3 premierships in 11 seasons, when to win the previous 3 took us 40 years, amazingly there would be more people on this godforsaken site that want him gone, as opposed to appreciate hugely his impact. The people who want him gone probably don't even watch his media interviews. But this one, honestly, if you can watch this and still think he's not the right guy for us, I'd humbly suggest your problems are closer to home.

That’s the reason I love Trent. He’s intelligent, thoughtful and considered in everything he says. We’re so very lucky to have him as our coach. He also makes some valid points on the Jennings issue which despite my reservations on the matter, I can now feel more comfortable with the other side of the argument.

He is getting torn apart on social media, white ribbon foundation are calling it an embarrassment, why is the heat not directed at the NRL for letting this happen in the first place? If they were not willing to acknowledge his 300 games, why allow it at all, surely they knew of the possible backlash.

this will now drag on in the media, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Jennings is stood down by the NRL now.

Yes due respect. Just hope this positive post about Trent is not hijacked by Les Miserables.

Situations like this really suck and I struggle to comment on them regardless of the club or player unless there has been an admission of guilt or a guilty finding.

For those who watched the full interview Robinson mentions that he's reviewed all the facts, knows the couple well and after doing all that research was comfortable with signing Jennings.

Robinson would know 10x more than any of us and 10x more than anyone else on the interent who have passed judgement today.

I still remember the SKD case where everyone had made up their mind before anything had ever happened and the poor guy nearly took his life over it. I remember the NSW premier at the time condemned SKD... it was the same kind of furore for those who remember. I couldn't imagine anything worse than being accused of something you didn't do.

But on the flip aide if true my heart goes out to Jennings partner because all of this must be such a disheartening and alienating time for her.

We've heard from the partner, we've heard from Trent Robinson.. I think it'd be good for Jennings to come out and have his say if he truly is maintaining his innocence...

Of course Robbo is a good guy & a humanitarian.

I love him for 3 GF in 7 years.

But last 4yrs it's all just talk..talk is cheap if the team can't walk the walk.

it's not a nice guy competition. I want the team playing real Roosters footy.

Time for talk is over. Actions speak louder.

Jennings, Tetevano & Lodge last few years.

You can see where certain sections would raise their eyebrows.

It's not like we are the only club that gives 2nd chances to players with questionable pasts!

The premier really should have lost his job for that - absolutely no business commenting on it at all.

I know it really bothered Johnny on here as well.

if we didn’t sign them, someone else would have, and has.

Robbo probably said too much in the presser, there was no reason to publicly state that we will celebrate Jennings 300th internally, even though the NRL won’t. I think he got that part wrong, and where the backlash is coming from.

Jennings is on a hiding to nothing whether he makes a statement or not. He's already made a statement to a judge in a civil court and he wasn't believed - or at least considered more likely to have caused offence against his partner than not. IMO the best thing he can do is stay quiet and wait for it to blow over. It would not have even been raised if he wasn't playing his 300th. And as you say, Robinson and as an extension of that, the Club would know much more than most of those commenting in the media and on here.

To put it into perspective the " ones that want him gone" here is limited to about 10- but they do make a lot of noise. Thats ok- thats their right......whinge your heart out!!

Luckily the club is run by an astute board who make decisions based on what they believe is right.....not what anonymous fickle bandwagon supporters blurt out on a unofficial webpage

So unless your 100% in bed with Robbo then your a fickle bandwagon supporter?

Some would say the Robbo Mafia need to separate warm fuzzy emotions & look at real facts.

We have been on the decline for a while now.

Robbo is not employed here because he's a nice guy & speaks in a nice way. He's paid very well to be the head coach & get results with a very good roster.

The mind boogles people can't separate the two.
